[Solution] The actuator comprises an insulating flexible bag that forms a housing, a liquid dielectric filled inside the flexible bag, a plurality of electrodes arranged on the inner circumferential surface of the flexible bag whose separation distance changes according to the applied voltage, an expansion section in which the liquid dielectric present between the electrodes flows in and expands in volume when the separation distance between the electrodes decreases, and a separator inserted between the electrodes. The separator is in the form of a film with its front and back surfaces facing the electrodes and has through holes that penetrate in the thickness direction. As a result, the applied voltage is directly applied to the capacitor portion where only liquid dielectric is filled between the electrodes, and by adjusting the relative permittivity of the liquid dielectric, the amount of charge induced between the electrodes can be adjusted accordingly.

Liquefied natural gas has brought about energy hegemonism and environmental destruction. This liquefied natural gas is, however, a liquid dielectric which can be liquefied easily by applying pressure at room temperature, expands in volume by more than 250 times when vaporized, and has a relatively high dielectric constant and a relatively low withstand voltage. As a capacitor, this liquid dielectric is regarded; the energy of the liquid dielectric capacitor is consumed inside the capacitor for use in engines, welding, or producing buoyancy gas, or consumed outside the capacitor for use as an on-board capacitor for a vehicle. The liquid dielectric capacitor is considered to be a dielectric breakdown-inducing igniter as an alternative to the conventional spark plug. In order to utilize the principle of this igniter as an energy source for an engine, a welding device or a gas production device for a buoyancy bag used to lift off seabed resources, an electric charge is applied to a liquid dielectric thin layer, then the thickness of the liquid dielectric thin layer is brought close to zero to cause dielectric breakdown, or the thickness of the liquid dielectric thin layer is increased to create a high voltage source for an on-board capacitor for a vehicle. Thus, a world without environmental destruction is achieved.

A reconfigurable liquid dielectric rod antenna

This invention discloses a liquid dielectric rod antenna with reconfigurable polarization, comprising an antenna housing, a metal waveguide, a loading container, an RF coaxial probe, and a metal cylinder. The antenna housing is mounted on the metal waveguide, with helical first to third channels arranged along its axis. The loading container has excitation channels passing through its two sides and sealed to the container. The metal waveguide encloses the loading container and has mounting holes communicating with the excitation channels. The inner conductor of the RF coaxial probe extends into the excitation channels and connects to the metal cylinder. The loading container is filled with dimethyl silicone oil. When tetrahydrofuran is injected into the first channel, the dielectric rod antenna operates in circular polarization mode; when tetrahydrofuran is injected into the first to third channels simultaneously, the dielectric rod antenna operates in linear polarization mode. This invention solves the problem that traditional dielectric rod antennas can only operate in a single polarization mode, and has great potential in future wireless communications.

This invention provides a high-voltage variable capacitor and its method of use, comprising: a sealable housing assembly with ports; an electrode assembly mounted within the cavity of the housing assembly, the capacitance value of which is adjusted by changing the effective overlap area between the electrodes; and an insulating fluid dielectric filling the cavity to immerse the electrode assembly; the fluid dielectric is a liquid dielectric. This invention also provides a method for operating the capacitor, comprising draining the original first fluid dielectric from the cavity and injecting a second fluid dielectric with a different dielectric constant. Through this structure and method, the user can replace different types of fluid dielectrics, thereby changing the overall capacitance adjustment range and voltage rating of the capacitor. The capacitor of this invention has the advantages of high voltage resistance, small size, high power carrying capacity, flexible application, and relatively low cost.
