The present application provides a compound used as a
coating agent for providing a particle having excellent dispersibility and
refractive index, a particle having a surface coated with the compound, a production method thereof, and a dispersion composition containing the particle. The compound according to the present application has a structure represented by Formula (1). In the formula, R 1 represents an
organic group having 1 to 30 carbon atoms, R 2 represents OR 3 or a group represented by Formula (2), R 3 represents an
organic group having 1 to 30 carbon atoms, n1 and n2 represent an integer of 0 or more, n1 + 2 x n2 represents a valence number determined by the kind of L, L represents aluminum,
gallium,
yttrium,
titanium,
zirconium,
hafnium,
bismuth,
tin,
vanadium, or
tantalum, * represents a bonding site, and R 4 and R 5 represent an
organic group having 1 to 30 carbon atoms which can have an
oxygen atom. The particle according to the present application has a structure represented by Formula (1) on the surface.
