This invention relates to the field of thermal sublimation printing technology, specifically to a thermal sublimation ribbon, a re-transfer film, and a transfer method suitable for printing PET ID cards. The ribbon has a base
coating layer on one side of the substrate, and a dye layer on the base
coating layer; it also includes an adhesion promoting layer; the adhesion promoting layer includes a release layer and an
adhesive layer, with the release layer disposed on one side of the substrate and the
adhesive layer disposed on the release layer. When this ribbon is used in conjunction with the re-transfer film, the pattern can be printed onto the re-transfer film first through the dye layer, and then the adhesion promoting layer can be printed onto the pattern layer. The release layer ensures complete transfer of the adhesion promoting layer, and the
adhesive layer improves the adhesion of the pattern to the PET ID card, increasing the color density and durability of the ID
card image.
