Use bananas to whiten your teeth. Potassium, magnesium, and manganese can be found in a ripe banana. These three vitamins can help remove stains and clean teeth. Simply peel a banana, take a small strip of the peel, and rub it on the surface of your teeth for two minutes every day.

High-cleaning/low abrasive silica and materials and dentifrice containing such materials

Unique abrasive and / or thickening materials that are in situ generated compositions of precipitated silicas and silica gels are provided. Such compositions exhibit different beneficial characteristics depending on the structure of the composite in situ generated material. With low structured composites (as measured via linseed oil absorption levels from 40 to 100 ml oil absorbed / 100 g composite), simultaneously high pellicle film cleaning properties and moderate dentin abrasion levels are possible in order to accord the user a dentifrice that effectively cleans tooth surfaces without detrimentally abrading such surfaces. Increased amounts of high structure composite materials tend to accord greater viscosity build and thickening benefits together with such desirable abrasion and cleaning properties, albeit to a lesser extent than for the low structure types. Thus, mid-range cleaning materials will exhibit oil absorption levels from an excess of 100 to 150, and high thickening / low abrasion composite exhibit oil absorption properties in excess of 150. Such an in situ, simultaneously produced precipitated silica / silica gel combination provides such unexpectedly effective low abrasion and high cleaning capability and different thickening characteristics as compared to physical mixtures of such components. Encompassed within this invention is a unique method for making such gel / precipitated silica composite materials for such a purpose, as well as the different materials within the structure ranges described above and dentifrices comprising such.

Panax notoginseng active ingredient-containing medicinal toothpaste and preparation method and application thereof

The invention discloses panax notoginseng active ingredient-containing medicinal toothpaste and a preparation method and application thereof. The panax notoginseng active ingredient-containing medicinal toothpaste comprises 0.1 to 0.4 weight percent of total panax notoginseng saponins and 0.2 to 0.5 weight percent of panax notoginseng polysaccharide which are panax notoginseng active ingredients, abrasive, a wetting agent, surfactant, a foaming agent, adhesive, a stabilizing agent and deionized water. The preparation method for the toothpaste comprises the following steps of: preparing materials, mixing, grinding, and degassing to obtain a toothpaste body. According to the toothpaste, total panax notoginseng saponins and panax notoginseng polysaccharide are used as the core functional components of the toothpaste, so that the toothpaste has the function of cleaning teeth, and the obvious effects of promoting recovery of dental ulcer, gingivitis and periodontitis, inhibiting swelling and aching of gums, relieving bleeding of gums, and delaying gingival atrophy and aging. The total panax notoginseng saponins and the panax notoginseng polysaccharide which are used as the active ingredients are natural plant extract, so that damage to ecological environment of normal flora in an oral cavity can be avoided, and the panax notoginseng active ingredient-containing medicinal toothpasteis suitable to be used for a long tome and is good in effect.

Plaque Removal and Differentiation of Tooth and Gum

A method of tooth treatment includes sensing a surface condition of tooth or gum and controlling ejection of a fluid jet against the tooth based on the sensed condition. The fluid may be a liquid and may be carried in a self-contained reservoir in a handle of a fluid ejection device. The liquid can be a cleansing solution and may contain cleaning particles. The ejection can be controlled to clean teeth at high pressure and to reduce pressure applied to gum, for example, to clean plaque. In some embodiments, the method may be used to remove soft tooth. The method may further include automatically scanning the fluid jet relative to a handle of an injection device. In an embodiment, the fluid is ejected by means of a fluid ejector comprising a stationary magnet assembly providing a magnetic field and a coil assembly, slidably disposed with respect to the magnet assembly, the coil assembly driving ejection of the fluid jet. Sensing the surface condition can include measuring a response of tissue to a mechanical perturbation and may include sensing an acoustic signal reflected from tissue. The mechanical perturbation can include applied force and the measured response can include deformation of the tissue. The method may further include mechanically disturbing the tissue with the fluid jet. A tooth treatment device includes a fluid ejector that ejects fluid against teeth and a servo controller controlling pressure of ejected fluid in response to a sensed surface condition. The fluid jet can have a diameter of less than 500 microns, a peak relative pressure of at least 1 kilopascal and velocity of at least 1 meter per second.
