A
fire retardant formulation includes a first
flame retardant agent consisting of
corn syrup, com molasses,
sorghum molasses, pomegranate molasses, carob molasses, date molasses, a waste concentrate of
alcohol distilling industry, sacharinic acid, a lignosulfonate, steepwater solubles formed using a
wet milling process for corn, whey, a
wine-making residue, brewers' condensed solubles, desugared corn symp, desugared com molasses, desugared (brown) rice syrup, desugared
maple symp, desugared
sorghum molasses, desugared
agave symp, desugared pomegranate molasses, desugared carob molasses, desugared date molasses and admixtures thereof exhibiting
flame retardant properties, and a second agent selected from a group consisting of a
flame retardant colorant, an additional flame retardant agent and mixtures thereof. A method of suppressing a wild fire or forest fire includes the step of applying an effective amount of the
fire retardant formulation to (a) the wild fire, (b) the forest fire, (c) an area to be protected from the wild fire or the forest fire or (d) combinations thereof.
