A hammer with integral lever mechanism is disclosed, comprised of a traditional handle and claw head. To increase leverage during nail removal and enable the user to remove longer nails with speed and ease, a lever is incorporated into the design of the device. The lever is T-shaped, and in its resting position is located inside of the head, so as to not interfere with use of the device when the lever is not needed. The lever can be rotated relative to the head by depressing a lever release button, to aid in nail removal . The lever is of ratchet style configuration, allowing the user to position the lever in a multitude of locations relative to the head, to assist in removing nails of various lengths. The lever is capable of being locked into position relative to the head at each of the lever's possible positions. A hand guard and finger grips permit the user to maintain a firm hold on the handle during use, thus reducing risk of injury. A retractable tape measure is incorporated into the design of the handle.

Provided is a carrier convertible from a sling supported vessel to a material handler for filling portable receptacles such as bags from a bulk lot of material. The front end of this unit is a scoop for gathering fluent material. Over top the scoop is a hood that prevents spill out of any material when the unit is raised into an upright position. The hood terminates at a projection that defines a hand grip. The scoop tapers into a flue. This tapering permits multiple units to nest into one another for storage purposes. The flue ends at an opening and the opening is sized so that an industry-specific standard bag fits over the opening. The length of the flue is dimensioned so that upon the bag being placed over the flue a hand can grasp both the carrier and bag easily at the projection. When grasped, the bag is tightened and secured to the carrier by the grasping hand. Other bags of different sizes can be accommodated by either gathering any slack with the gripping hand or making different size units. Above the hood are a pair of stanchions that have a handle traversing the pair. Also, provided is a plug that when placed in the flue inhibits material from passing through that flue and when held in the interior by the projection is stored out of the way during the bagging process.

This prevents complete dislodgement and prompts the user to restore the selector to a fully installed position. Side walls of the selector may become curved when the selector is installed to provide an additional frictional force resisting dislodgement of the selector.

Snowthrower deflector control

A U-shaped handle is physically attached to the back of a deflector atop a snow directing chute on a snowthrower. The deflector pivots atop the chute to adjust the trajectory of a stream of snow being thrown by the snowthrower. The handle is gripped and moved up and down to effect a pivotal adjustment of the deflector. A pivotal latch is carried on the handle which latch protrudes into the open interior hand grip space of the handle. The latch is spring biased so that a detent on the latch engages with a toothed rack with the interengagement between the detent and the rack holding the deflector in an adjusted position. When the operator grips the handle and squeezes the fingers of the gripping hand closed, the latch is pivoted to remove the detent from the rack and thereby permit pivotal adjustment of the deflector.
