Heat recovery ventilation (HRV), also known as mechanical ventilation heat recovery (MVHR), is an energy recovery ventilation system which works between two sources at different temperatures. Heat recovery is a method which is increasingly used to reduce the heating and cooling demands ( and thus energy costs ) of buildings. By recovering the residual heat in the exhaust gas, the fresh air introduced into the air conditioning system is pre-heated (pre-cooled), and the fresh air enthalpy is increased (reduced) before the fresh air enters the room or the air cooler of the air conditioning unit performs heat and moisture treatment. A typical heat recovery system in buildings consists of a core unit, channels for fresh air and exhaust air, and blower fans. Building exhaust air is used as either a heat source or heat sink depending on the climate conditions, time of year and requirements of the building. Heat recovery systems typically recover about 60–95% of the heat in exhaust air and have significantly improved the energy efficiency of buildings .

Every other channel is sealed to flow from flow same direction forcing the flow to be in opposite direction in all adjacent cannels. This forms two hydraulically isolated flow passages with intake and outtake openings connected respectively with outlet and inlet openings of the air blower assembly.

Waste heat recovery ventilator

The invention discloses a waste heat recovery ventilator. The side, close to a return air inlet, in a ventilator shell is provided with two heat exchangers in the vertical direction, a heat isolation air channel is arranged between the return air inlet face of the first heat exchanger and the return air inlet, a first isolation air channel and a second isolation air channel are arranged between the return air outlet face of the first heat exchanger and the return air inlet face of the second heat exchanger, and a third isolation air channel is arranged between the return air outlet face of the second heat exchanger and an air exhaust port. According to the waste heat recovery ventilator, the heat isolation air channel, the three isolation air channels and return air channels of the first heat exchanger and the second heat exchanger together form a sealed and isolated air exhaust channel in the ventilator shell, and explosion preventing and solvent corrosion resisting treatment and extra heat insulation treatment on the ventilator shell of the whole ventilator are avoided. The waste heat recovery ventilator can be used for performing heat recovery on waste gas of all drying boxes of a multi-color gravure printing machine or waste gas of a compound machine and supplying gas to all the drying boxes simultaneously.
