192 results about "Reduced mass" patented technology

In physics, the reduced mass is the "effective" inertial mass appearing in the two-body problem of Newtonian mechanics. It is a quantity which allows the two-body problem to be solved as if it were a one-body problem. Note, however, that the mass determining the gravitational force is not reduced. In the computation one mass can be replaced with the reduced mass, if this is compensated by replacing the other mass with the sum of both masses.

Method for producing thin film bulk acoustic resonators (FBARs) with different frequencies on the same substrate by subtracting method and apparatus embodying the method

A method for fabricating a resonator, and in particular, a thin film bulk acoustic resonator (FBAR), and a resonator embodying the method are disclosed. An FBAR is fabricated on a substrate by reducing mass from a top electrode layer. Apparatus for launching and deploying multiple satellites

An apparatus for launching and dispensing multiple satellites into orbit includes a central structure and a plurality of satellites releasably bundled around the central structure to form a cohesive, single payload mounted on an upper stage of a launcher rocket. The central structure includes a central tube and an adapter shell that fits onto the upper stage of the rocket. Each satellite has the shape of a partial cylinder segment of which an outer wall is a cylindrical segment shell. The satellites are bundled and secured together around the central structure by tension bands, whereby the cylindrical segment shells form a load-bearing complete outer cylindrical shell that surrounds the central tube. This structure provides sufficient stiffness and strength to withstand the loads that arise during launch, while having a reduced mass. The satellites themselves, rather than the central structure, bear the loads during launch. This allows the central structure to be of relatively lightweight construction.

InactiveCN102642947AGuaranteed heat transfer coefficientAvoid cloggingSolidificationLiquefactionCycloneReaction temperature
The invention discloses a supercritical water oxidization treatment system for high-salinity organic waste water. The high-salinity waste water is subjected to cooling crystallization through cold energy of liquid oxygen to reduce mass concentration of inorganic salt in the waste water; a large amount of solid salt grains separated out from the waste water are removed by using a hydraulic cyclone device under a supercritical water condition to effectively prevent a subsequent pipeline and a reactor of the hydraulic cyclone device from plugging; and a desalting device is arranged at the lower part of the hydraulic cyclone device to continuously remove the inorganic salt from the system. In addition, excessive oxygen and CO2 product gas are recovered through a separation recovery part; the reaction time and the reaction temperature of supercritical water oxidization are reduced through arranging a simple subsequent treatment unit; and the system recovers heat energy of the reacted high-temperature fluid in a steam mode through the arrangement of a water softening device, so that the operation cost of the system is reduced. The system can be widely applied to the innocent treatment process of the high-salinity organic waste water.

Measuring method for quickly measuring contents of heavy metals in tobacco by using microwave digestion/ICP-MS method

The invention discloses a measuring method for quickly measuring the contents of heavy metals in tobacco by using a microwave digestion / ICP-MS (Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry) method. According to the measuring method, a microwave digestion pretreatment method is adopted, an ICP-MS is adopted to measure the contents of arsenic, plumbum, cadmium, chromium, copper, zinc, nickel and mercury elements in a digestion liquid, 75As, 208Pb, 111Cd, 53Cr, 63Cu, 66Zn, 60Ni and 202Hg are selected as mass numbers of the to-be-measured elements to reduce mass spectrum interference, and an internal standard element Rh is added in an off-line manner to inhibit the matrix effect. For to-be-measured ions with a certain mass-to-charge ratio, mass spectrum signal response is directly proportional to the number of ions entering the ICP-MS, the concentration of the elements in a sample is measured by measuring the number of mass spectrum signals, and the contents of the elements are calculated by a standard curve method. The method is quick and simple, can efficiently and accurately measure the contents of heavy metals in tobacco and tobacco products, and provides an effective scheme for finding out the content level of heavy metals in cigarettes in China to reduce harm to human health.

Reduced-mass, long-acting dosage forms

Methods and compositions are disclosed whereby free antibody or nucleic acid co-administered with a long-acting formulation, such as a microparticle or implant, containing the antibody or nucleic acid to achieve a long duration of antibody or nucleic acid release. One result is that less of the long-acting formulation excipient or polymer is needed allowing for small-volume administrations as required, for example, for ocular, intra-dermal, orthopedic, brain and spinal delivery. In one aspect, the free antibody or nucleic acid alone has efficacy for an extended period, during which time, very little or no long-acting formulation antibody or nucleic acid is released. In one aspect, after the free antibody or nucleic acid has diminished activity, is gone, or no longer has activity, the long-acting formulation antibody or nucleic acid begins to release for a desired preprogrammed duration to provide long-acting durations. Less formulation mass is needed because the entire antibody or nucleic acid is not encapsulated or implanted with encapsulation or implant excipient or polymer. In addition, more antibody or nucleic acid can be administered to afford longer-acting formulations.

Synchronous machine design and manufacturing

Synchronous motors according to the invention operate at higher efficiency, with lower cost, reduced mass and reduced cogging. Magnet dimensions are selected that reduce cogging forces to a negligible amount even though there are fewer slots than normal. Optionally, it is possible to use non-overlapping windings with deeper and open slots. The approach is applicable to both rotary and linear motors and motors using either permanent magnets or electromagnets in the field structure. It is particularly relevant to linear or rotary motors that have a large air gap, and to small motors that must deliver a high ratio of thrust or torque to motor mass.

Control system

A system for controlling a centrifugal gas compressor (108) in an HVAC, refrigeration or liquid chiller system (100) in which flow of gas through the compressor is automatically controlled to maintain desired parameters within predetermined ranges so as to prevent stall and surge conditions within the system. A variable geometry diffuser (119) in the compressor controls the refrigerant gas flow at the discharge of the compressor impeller wheel (201). This arrangement reduces mass flow, decrease / eliminate flow-reducing stall, and increases the operating efficiency of the compressor at partial load conditions. The variable geometry diffuser control in combination with a variable speed drive (VSD) (120) increases the efficiency of the compressor at partial system loads, and eliminates the need for pre-rotation vanes at the inlet of the centrifugal compressor.
