The invention relates to a secure element having a card-type body (10) made of a plurality of
layers (11, 21, 22), which are arranged one above the other and generated by coextrusion. The secure element comprises a first layer (11) as the base layer made of a first material that comprises a base
polymer, wherein a first colour (11F) is homogenously distributed in the first layer (11) as the main colour of the body (10). The secure element also comprises at least one second layer (21, 22) as the coloured layer made of a second material that comprises a carrier
polymer. The base
polymer and the carrier polymer have different material properties so that they do not homogenously mix, as a result of which randomised polychromatism is visible in plan view and in cross section. In the process, the at least one second layer (21, 22) forms, together with the first layer (11) in the card body (10) in a random distribution, coloured surface regions (23), which are dominated in part by the colour of the first layer (11) and in part by the colour of the second layer (21, 22).
