A watermark system includes an embedder, detector, and reader. The watermark embedder encodes a watermark signal in a host signal to create a combined signal. The detector looks for the watermark signal in a potentially corrupted version of the combined signal, and computes its orientation. Finally, a reader extracts a message in the watermark signal from the combined signal using the orientation to approximate the original state of the combined signal. While adapted for images, video and audio, the watermark system applies to other electronic and physical media. For example, it can be applied to mark graphical models, blank paper, film and other substrates, texturing objects for ID purposes, etc.

Audio Localization Using Audio Signal Encoding and Recognition

A positioning network comprises an array of signal sources that transmit signals with unique characteristics that are detectable in signals captured through a sensor on a mobile device, such as a microphone of a mobile phone handset. Through signal processing of the captured signal, the positioning system distinguishes these characteristics to identify distinct sources and their corresponding coordinates. A position calculator takes these coordinates together with other attributes derived from the received signals from distinct sources, such as time of arrival or signal strength, to calculate coordinates of the mobile device. A layered protocol is used to introduce distinguishing characteristics in the source signals. This approach enables the use of low cost components to integrate a positioning network on equipment used for other functions, such as audio playback equipment at shopping malls and other venues where location based services are desired.

Cooperative Routing in Wireless Networks using Mutual-Information Accumulation

A route is selected in a wireless cooperative relay network of nodes. A decoding order is initialized. A set of resources is minimized subject to constraints. The resources are allocated to the nodes in the decoding order. The decoding order is changed iteratively to further minimize the allocated resources, until a minimum is reached. A code word is transmitted when the allocated resources are at the minimum, which can either be determined globally or locally at each node. The method can operate in a centralized or distributed manner.

Monocular 3D pose estimation and tracking by detection

Methods and apparatus are described for monocular 3D human pose estimation and tracking, which are able to recover poses of people in realistic street conditions captured using a monocular, potentially moving camera. Embodiments of the present invention provide a three-stage process involving estimating (10, 60, 110) a 3D pose of each of the multiple objects using an output of 2D tracking-by detection (50) and 2D viewpoint estimation (46). The present invention provides a sound Bayesian formulation to address the above problems. The present invention can provide articulated 3D tracking in realistic street conditions.The present invention provides methods and apparatus for people detection and 2D pose estimation combined with a dynamic motion prior. The present invention provides not only 2D pose estimation for people in side views, it goes beyond this by estimating poses in 3D from multiple viewpoints. The estimation of poses is done in monocular images, and does not require stereo images. Also the present invention does not require detection of characteristic poses of people.

Bidirectional combined type direct current breaker and control method thereof

The present invention discloses a bidirectional combined type direct current breaker and a control method thereof. The bidirectional combined type direct current breaker comprises a principal current circuit, a no-voltage circuit, a null-current circuit and an energy absorption circuit, wherein the principal current circuit, the no-voltage circuit, the null-current circuit and the energy absorption circuit are in parallel. The principal current circuit employs a mechanical switch; the no-voltage circuit employs a bi-directional semiconductor switch formed through anti-parallel thyristors; the null-current circuit is a bi-directional pulse current circuit formed by a precharge capacitor, an inductor and a thyristor bridge; and the energy absorption circuit employs a metal-oxide varistor. The present invention further discloses a control method of the bidirectional combined type direct current breaker. According to the invention, the no-voltage circuit employs thyristors so that the on-state voltage drop is small and the current commutation speed is fast, and a mechanical switch has sufficient dielectric recovery time and post arc dielectric recovery is reliable; a null-current circuit is adopted to realize quick shutdown of the thyristors, and the breaking capacity of a breaker is great; and two working modes are convenient to be realized, and the working capability of the breaker is easy to be improved. The bidirectional combined type direct current breaker and the control method thereof are applicable to the fault protection of a bi-directional direct current power system, with small loss of long-term flow passage, rapid breaking motion, high work reliability and the like.

System and method for recovering a damaged routing path in a mobile network

A system and method in a mobile network in which a first router manages a first subnet including at least one second router and the at least one second router manages a second subnet including at least one mobile node. In a method for recovering a routing path between the first router and the at least one mobile node, the first router receives, from the at least one second router, information of neighboring routers included in the first subnet, and stores the received neighboring router information. An occurrence of routing path failure is recognized when a periodic report message is not received from the at least one second router within a preset time. An alternative router is selected from among the neighboring routers when the failure occurrence is recognized, and a routing path recovery request is sent to the alternative router. Data is routed to the at least one mobile node through the alternative router when the alternative router positively responds to the routing path recovery request.

The invention discloses a fuze isolation mechanism which comprises a frame, and a first U-shaped separator, a second U-shaped separator, a first spring and a second spring which are arranged in the frame, wherein the two springs are two-way shape memory alloy materials; the first spring is longitudinally connected with the first U-shaped separator; the second spring is transversely connected with the second U-shaped separator; notches of the two separators are opposite to each other and are embedded into a whole in a dislocated mode under the action of the compressing force of the two springs, so that fuze isolation is realized; after the second spring and the first spring are sequentially electrified, the second U-shaped separator is pulled to transversely move by virtue of the retractive force generated by the second spring, and the first U-shaped separator is pulled to longitudinally move by virtue of the retractive force generated by the first spring, so that fuze isolation is released; and after the power of the first spring and the second spring is sequentially cut off, the first U-shaped separator and the second U-shaped separator are sequentially reset to the fuze isolation state. According to the fuze isolation mechanism disclosed by the invention, reliable switching between the isolation release state and the isolation state is realized, and the problem that the conventional fuze isolation mechanism is low in restorability and low in safety coefficient is solved.
