An Improved solar heated freeze free livestock watering system is provided. Which is adapted to allow sunlight to pass through a housing window and impinged onto a water reservoir tank which also is utilized as a passive solar collector on the same area, heating and conducting heat into a water trough and keeping water from freezing. The passive solar heated livestock water system comprises a watering trough with an insulated housing that covers the water trough.
