The invention provides an unlicensed frequency band heterogeneous network embedded friendly coexistence method and system based on spatial multiplexing. The method comprises the steps that a multi-antenna WiFi access point is connected with a plurality of WiFi loads; channel states of the WiFi loads are detected; the occupation of spatial flow by the WiFi loads with relatively poor channel qualityis forcedly disabled; and optimal heterogeneous network loads are searched for to be accessed, and idle spatial resources are occupied: a search process of an optimal heterogeneous network load set as shown in the description is executed. The method and the system are based on the spatial multiplexing technology, so that the performance of WiFi equipment/a user on an unlicensed frequency band isnot obviously lost or even effectively improved, and the friendly coexistence and the win-win effect of the heterogeneous network are realized. Compared with an existing coexistence method, the heterogeneous network coexistence method provided by the invention can effectively improve the performance of the heterogeneous network, and fair distribution of MIMO spatial flow is realized.

With the method and apparatus of the invention adopted, at least one cell can be properly selected from the plurality of cells to perform intermittent transmission, and therefore, interferences between the cells can be decreased, and negative impact on the performance of a whole communication system can be avoided, and performance deterioration which is caused by a situation in which one or many cells are selected frequently to perform intermittent transmission can be avoided.
