The selected spectral power can be estimated by signal average or mean, or by other criteria. Once a selection of the channels to stimulate has been made, the system can decide that only those channels are stimulated, and stimulation is removed from the other channels. The selected channels are the ones on which the spectral power is above the mean of all the available channels. Fewer channels are stimulated at any time and the contrast of the stimulation is enhanced. Also, the temporal resolution increases as the number of channels that must be stimulated on a given frame decreases. This way, the channels which are presented to the patient are fewer in number and contain more temporal information.

The inquiry management system for the pure XML database comprises a data file management module and an inquiry operation module, wherein the data file management module is used for processing data and recording and storing the XML data into various slots of web pages; each web page has a unique page number and each slot in the web page has a unique slot number; the 'page number' and the 'slot number' are used for uniquely positioning the position of a record; web pages for storing the same XML file data are connected with each other to form a doubly linked list by pointers of page heads; a node storage structure comprises a code domain which is used to be endowed with a code value by a relation analytic unit; and the inquiry operation module is used for realizing inquiry operation and executing structure linkage operation, and comprises the relation analytic unit and a structure linkage unit. The inquiry management method and the inquiry management system have high time performance, can greatly improve the inquiry efficiency, and are convenient for realization and application.
