Monensin is a polyether antibiotic isolated from Streptomyces cinnamonensis. It is widely used in ruminant animal feeds. The structure of monensin was first described by Agtarap et al. in 1967, and was the first polyether antibiotic to have its structure elucidated in this way. The first total synthesis of monensin was reported in 1979 by Kishi et al.
A medium composition and fermentation process for monensin
The application belongs to the technical field of microbial fermentation, and particularly relates to a culture medium composition and a fermentation process of monensin. A technical idea of 'inducing endogenous lipase secretion in bacterial cells, in-situ hydrolyzing oil, and dynamically releasing precursor fatty acids' is first proposed, and based on this, a complete fermentation process is developed. By applying a lipase activity inducer, the secretion level of extracellular lipase of Streptomyces cinnamoneus is significantly increased. Compared with the control without adding the inducer, the lipase activity can be increased by 2-4 times, and the titer of monensin is increased by 15%-25%.
