Disclosed is a vehicle equipped with a
rolling shutter image sensor, a
gimbal, an
inertial measurement unit (IMU), and a global navigation
satellite system (GNSS) module. The processor in the
system generates a warp mesh to correct
rolling shutter artifacts using
pose data,
exposure time, and an estimated scene geometry. This correction approximates a global
shutter capture, and both raw and corrected images are stored with embedded
metadata, including
timestamp,
camera orientation, and
geolocation. The
system can
handle gimbal orientation changes, optimize images for
photogrammetry, and correct
motion blur and scene motion. It also supports various operational
modes such as
base station,
total station, and differential leveling, and can
stream real-time digital twin models. The method involves capturing images, recording
pose data, computing correction meshes, and saving images with
metadata, enabling high-precision
geolocation and
image correction.
