6 results about "UVA Radiation" patented technology

The Sun emits ultraviolet radiation as UVA, UVB, and UVC rays. 98.7% of the ultraviolet radiation that reaches the earth’s surface is UVA since the ozone layer absorbs most, but not all, of the UVB and UVC rays.

UV radiation device and method of use

The present invention provides a device, system, and method of using the same that can safely and effectively transmit therapeutic or germicidal ultraviolet (UV) radiation, such as UVC radiation or UVA radiation. [Solution] The treatment device comprises a base component and a head component. The head component has a distal portion and a proximal portion. The distal portion of the head component is configured to contact the target eyelid, and the proximal portion is configured to be attached to the base component. The distal portion of the head component is configured to transmit a therapeutic dose of energy from a plurality of energy sources, including an ultraviolet C (UVC) radiation source, an infrared (IR) radiation source, and an ultrasonic source. The plurality of energy sources are configured to transmit a therapeutic dose of energy to the target eyelid at a predetermined output when the distal portion of the head component contacts the eyelid.

UV-c microbiological inactivation apparatus for air conditioning and ventilation grilles

The present invention describes a microbiological inactivation system using UV-C radiation, designed to be integrated into air conditioning and ventilation grilles, aiming to improve indoor air quality and minimizing the presence of pathogenic microorganisms such as viruses, bacteria and fungi. The system comprises a microbiological inactivation module with UV-C lamps arranged in a sinuous circuit, which maximizes the air's exposure to ultraviolet radiation and the reflection and redistribution of UV-C radiation by internal surfaces. In addition, the blower is equipped with an electric motor controlled by a frequency inverter, allowing bidirectional operation of the fan (air insufflation and extraction), which provides flexibility in ventilating and purifying the environment. Installation and maintenance are made easy thanks to the design, which allows the system to be adapted to different air volumes and microbiological control needs, without the need for complex modifications to existing air conditioning and ventilation. This microbiological inactivation system using UV-C radiation contributes to improving air quality, increasing microbiological safety in different contexts.

GLASSES WITH HIGH TRANSMISSION SELECTIVITY FOR 290-305 nm UV RADIATION AND VISIBLE LIGHT WHILE SUBSTANTIALLY BLOCKING OTHER WAVELENGTHS FROM SUNLIGHT AND APPLICATIONS THEREOF

PendingUS20260138915A1CoatingsInfraredVitamin D synthesis
A health-preserving and wellness glass with high transmission selectivity for beneficial 290-305 nm solar ultraviolet radiation and visible light is provided. The glass is prepared by two methods: 1) forming a multicomponent glass doped with the rare earth element Dysprosium, the glass consisting essentially of SiO2, B2O3, NazO, ZnO, BaO, KO, CaO, and Sb2O3; or 2) providing a glass substrate of the same composition and applying a Dysprosium coating of about 0.3 μm thickness thereon. A 1 mm thickness of the glass prepared by either method exhibits 75-90% transmission for 290-305 nm UV radiation, which promotes vitamin D synthesis in the human body, and high transmission for visible light, beneficial for skin and mental wellness, while substantially blocking harmful UVB and UVA radiation and infrared radiation that causes heating sensation. This glass enables health-preserving and wellness effects from transmitted sunlight without the risks of skin tanning or overheating.

Sterile connection

A method for the sterile connection of a cut end (13) of a silicone tube (1) with a connection element (2), the method comprising sterilizing the cut end (13) using ultraviolet C (UVC) radiation (5) and then connecting the cut end (13) with the connection element (2), thereby providing an adhesive-free connection. A device for implementing the method, the device comprising an operating chamber within which are arranged: a tube support configured to receive a silicone tube (1), an additional support configured to receive a connecting element (2), a UVC radiation source (5) configured to sterilize the silicone tube, and a driver configured to move the supports relative to each other. The UVC radiation (5) may comprise VUV (vacuum ultraviolet) radiation. UVC radiation can also cause surface activation of the silicone tube (1). The connecting element (2) can be a second silicone tube.

External composition for skin or hair care

PendingJP2026019947ACosmetic preparationsHair cosmeticsDNA damageReactive oxygen species generation
Skin aging is caused by various causes other than aging, and photoaging due to ultraviolet rays is also known in recent years. Among ultraviolet rays, UVA causes a blackening phenomenon and promotes production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) through activation of NADPH oxygenase and the like. ROS causes photoaging of the skin such as causing DNA damage. In such a background, studies on components having an inhibitory effect on ROS production induced by ultraviolet rays have been advanced, and external preparation compositions for skin or hair care have been developed, but the effects thereof are not necessarily satisfactory.SOLUTION: To provide a new external preparation composition for skin or hair care, suppressing ROS production by NADPH oxidase activity inhibition and preventing photoaging by formulating trimethoxybenzylidene pentanedione.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
