A power generation type AC magnetic field sensor based on magneto piezoelectric effect is a laminated structure consisting of magnetostrictive rod, a piezoelectric material, the magnetostrictive rod and a permanent magnetic material; the upper surface and the lower surface of the piezoelectric material are provided with silver membrane electrode respectively, and the magnetostrictive rods is equipped with a signal output lead. The sensor can detect the alternating current without power supply, so the sensor is an energy-saving device with zero power consumption. The sensor has the advantages of small volume and low weight, can detect the AC magnetic field bandwidth ranging from 500Hz to 70kHz, and keeps a good linear relation between the output voltage and the magnetic field amplitude. The sensor adopts a thin rod structure, thus greatly reducing the volume of the sensor, enhancing the sensitivity and the bandwidth of the sensor. A bias magnetic field provided for the thin rod is greatly reduced for using small size of the magnetostrictive material, and can be integrated with a sensitive body. The sensor can be applicable to passive detection of the alternating magnetic fields.

A PMR writer is disclosed wherein a magnetic assist layer (MAL) made of an anisotropic (−Ku) or (+Ku) magnetic material is formed along a main pole trailing side to optimize the vertical magnetic field and field gradient at the air bearing surface. A Ru seed layer is formed between the main pole and (−Ku) MAL to induce a hard axis direction toward the main pole. A (−Ku) MAL is preferably comprised of hcp-CoIr while CoPt and FePt are examples of a (+Ku) MAL. The MAL has a down-track thickness from 5 to 20 nm, a width equal to the track width in a cross-track direction, and extends 100 to 500 nm in a direction toward a back end of the main pole. As a result, flux leakage from the main pole to trailing shield is reduced and aerial density is increased. A method for fabricating the PMR writer is provided.

The invention realizes the automatic magnetization of the two poles of the magnetic sheet, improves the production efficiency, and saves the manual labor and the cost.

To the L10 alloy of the nano-particles, at least one non-magnetic element is added, or a covered layer comprising at least one non-magnetic layer is formed therearound. This makes it possible to implement a magnetic recording medium wherein the average diameter of nano-particles is small, and the nano-particle diameter dispersion is small, and the axes of magnetic anisotropy are aligned.
