The invention provides an artificial breeding method of haliotis iris. The artificial breeding method comprises: promoting maturity of the haliotis iris with gonadal maturity of 20-30% to be 65-75% by adjusting an illumination period and light quality; and adjusting the illumination period again to promote the maturity of gonads so as to enable sperms or ova of the haliotis iris to be mature. The haliotis iris with mature gonads releases sperms or ova under stimulation of drying in the shade, H2O and NaOH. A parent abalone releases sperms or ova in a single spawning induction tank, the sperms can be added according to the number of the ova to increase the utilization rate of the ova and improve the fertility rate. Fertilized ova are put into a hatching pond for hatching after washing. Floating larvae after hatching are transferred into a nursery pond with an attachment substrate through a siphonage before metamorphosis so as to attach and metamorphose into juvenile abalones. The method provided by the invention is simple and convenient to operate, the haliotis iris is mature in gonad development, and relatively high in sperm or ovum releasing rate, and the fertility rate can reach 85%. In addition, the haliotis iris of which the gonad maturity is promoted to be 65-75% is cultivated in an environment at a temperature of 15 DEG C, thereby facilitating breeding all year round.
