33 results about "Colocasia" patented technology

Colocasia is a genus of flowering plants in the family Araceae, native to southeastern Asia and the Indian subcontinent. Some species are widely cultivated and naturalized in other tropical and subtropical regions. Common names include tarul, karkala ko ganu, elephant-ear, taro, cocoyam, dasheen, aloochi paane, saru, hembu, chamadhumpa/chamagadda in Telugu, shavige gadde, and eddoe. Elephant-ear and cocoyam are also used for some other large-leaved genera in the Araceae, notably Xanthosoma and Caladium. The generic name is derived from the ancient Greek word kolokasion, which in the Greek botanist Dioscorides (1st century AD) meant the edible roots of both Colocasia esculenta and Nelumbo nucifera. It is thought that the edible roots of Colocasia esculenta have been cultivated in Asia for more than ten thousand years. The species Colocasia esculenta is an invasive species in wetlands along the American Gulf coast, where it threatens to displace native wetland plants.

Treadle type colocasia esculenta pulling equipment and control method

The invention relates to treadle type colocasia esculenta pulling equipment which is agricultural machinery used for harvesting colocasia esculentas by pulling. The treadle type colocasia esculenta pulling equipment comprises a pulling equipment body and a control device, wherein the control device is arranged on the pulling equipment body and used for controlling the pulling equipment body to operate, so that the automation of the machinery is improved; the pulling equipment body comprises a clamping mechanism, a soil loosening mechanism and a lifting mechanism; the clamping mechanism is used for clamping a colocasia esculenta petiole; the soil loosening mechanism is used for moving the clamping mechanism forward and backward; and the lifting mechanism is used for lifting or lowering the horizontal position of the clamping mechanism. The control device judges whether to enter the next step flow by acquiring a driving torque force of the clamping mechanism and the soil loosening mechanism. Meanwhile, a clamping force is mastered more properly, so that the colocasia esculenta petiole is prevented from being crushed or falling off during pulling due to an insufficient clamping force; and a more proper soil loosening condition is mastered, so that parent colocasia esculenta can be smoothly pulled out from the soil.
