dormancy method based on a CSM mechanism DRX. The method comprises the following steps that under an RRC_CONNCTED 
ACTIVE state, a MTCD transmits a first data packet to a 
base station, then 
decodes and reads information N of a data packet number which needs to be continuously transmitted; a deactivation 
timer and a packet counter whose threshold is the N are started, downlink channel monitoring and data uploading are continuously performed, and after a 
dormancy condition is satisfied, a Short DRX state is entered into; under the Short DRX state, and in an On 
Duration period, 
data monitoring is performed, and if a DRX short period 
timer is overtime and does not monitor the data, the MTCD enters into a Long DRX state; under the Long DRX state, and in the On 
Duration period, the 
data monitoring is performed, and if a DRX long period 
timer is overtime and does not monitor the data, the MTCD enters into an IDLE DRX state; and under the IDLE DRX state, the MTCD is periodically awakened to monitor 
downlink transmission of a network till that the MTCD is paged, and then the MTCD returns and enters into the RRC_CONNCTED 
ACTIVE state. The invention provides the equipment 
dormancy method based on the CSM mechanism DRX so that the equipment can carry out high-efficiency operation when entering into a low 
power consumption dormancy state.
