The invention presents an
animal activity tracking system based on
infrared thermal imaging, which comprises a main
control system, an
infrared thermal imaging module, an
animal activity identification module, a holder control module, a data storage module and a
wireless communication module. The main
control system is in communication connection with the
infrared thermal imaging module, the
animal activity identification module and the holder control module through the
wireless communication module, and is in
data connection with the data storage module. The
infrared thermal imaging module takes infrared thermal images of a monitoring area at a certain sampling frequency, and transmits the images to the animal activity identification module through the main
control system. The animal activity identification module recognizes an animal in the infrared thermal images. The holder control module makes the
infrared thermal imaging module continuously track and take images of the animal according to the identification result of the animal activity identification module. Through use of a
digital image processing technology, a continuous shooting mode can be started automatically as needed for animals above a designated size. Therefore, the success rate of shooting for large animals is improved.
