The present invention discloses an electromagnetic sensing touch screen, which includes a display panel, a sensing capacitor matrix, select units, voltage controlled oscillators (VCOs), digital potentiometers, EM (electromagnetic) wave receive / detection units, a standard EM wave transmit unit and a control unit. A single detection unit consists of a corresponding select unit, VCO, digital potentiometer and EM wave receive / detection unit. The control unit drives the standard EM wave transmit unit to transmit standard EM wave, and further controls the EM wave receive / detection units to receive sensed capacitance values from the sensing capacitor matrix in a scanning manner. As a result, each EM wave receive / detection unit generates a respective detection signal for determining the location of the finger(s) and checking how the finger(s) approaches to or actually touches the sensing capacitor matrix, thereby generating finger location information and implementing the multipoint touch and display function.

A system for capture of dose delivery information is provided. The system includes a medication delivery device, a dose information capture device adapted to be attached to the medication delivery device, and a target element adapted to be attached to the medication delivery device. The target element comprises a magnet or ferrous element and the target element attaches to the medication delivery device on a dose delivery mechanism of the medication delivery device. The dose information capture device includes a magnetic position sensor adapted to detect a position of the target element. As an alternative to magnetic sensing, MEMS flow sensors, and the like may also be used. Exemplary systems preferably transmit dose information in real time to remote devices for further processing.

A magnetic anomaly sensing system and method uses at least four triaxial magnetometer (TM) sensors with each of the TM sensors having X,Y,Z magnetic sensing axes. The three-dimensional array defines a geometry that forms at least one single-axis gradiometer along each of the X,Y,Z magnetic sensing axes. Information sensed by the TM sensors is to generate scalar magnitudes of a magnetic anomaly field measured at each of the TM sensors, comparisons of the scalar magnitudes to at least one threshold value, distance to a source of the magnetic anomaly field using the scalar magnitudes when the threshold value(s) is exceeded, and a magnetic dipole moment of the source using the distance.

The present invention provides a current measuring apparatus having an improved structure to inhibit the possible adverse effect of a current in a different phase and the possible generation of an induced electromotive force caused by a measurement target current, enabling the measurement target current to be accurately detected even with the small size of the apparatus. The current measuring apparatus includes a printed circuit board 1 having Hall elements 2a, 2b and a signal processing integrated circuit 3 mounted thereon, the Hall elements 2a, 2b sensing a magnetic field generated by a current flowing through a current measurement target bus bar 4a, the signal processing integrated circuit 3 processing sensing outputs from the Hall elements 2a, 2b to calculate a value for the current flowing through the bus bar 4a. A receiving antenna circuit is arranged in a reactive near-field of a modulated magnetic induction signal and forms a narrow band-pass filter. The output of the antenna circuit is not subjected to any frequency translation prior to digitising, and the signal may nevertheless be digitised with low resolution, which radically reduces the power consumption of the receiving circuits. The reduction in power consumption is of several orders of magnitude, which allows implementation of such receiving circuits in battery-driven devices such as hearing devices without substantially affecting the battery life.

Micromachined magnetic field sensors

A micromachined magnetic field sensor integrated with electronics is disclosed. The magnetic field sensors utilize Hall-effect sensing mechanisms to achieve 3-axis sensing. A Z axis sensor can be fabricated either on a device layer or on a conventional IC substrate with the design of conventional horizontal Hall plates. An X and Y axis sensor are constructed on the device layer. In some embodiments, a magnetic flux concentrator is applied to enhance the performance of the magnetic field sensor. In some embodiments, the magnetic field sensors are placed on slope sidewalls to achieve 3-axis magnetic sensing system. In some embodiments, a stress isolation structure is incorporated to lower the sensor offset. The conventional IC substrate and device layer are connected electrically to form a 3-axis magnetic sensing system. The magnetic field sensor can also be integrated with motion sensors that are constructed in the similar technology.
