The method includes the steps of sowing sunflowers into moderately or slightly cadmium and/or lead polluted soil, absorbing cadmium and/or lead in the polluted soil through root systems of the sunflowers and transferring the cadmium and/or lead to the over-ground part; and harvesting the sunflowers absorbing the cadmium and/or lead. After harvested, the sunflowers can be transported to a special site uniformly and receive innocent treatment. According to the method, the sunflowers can absorb and accumulate the cadmium and/or lead in the polluted farmland soil and transfer the cadmium and/or lead to the over-ground part according to the characteristics of high stress resistance, fast growth, large biomass and co-enrichment of the cadmium and/or lead of the sunflowers, and therefore the content of the cadmium and/or lead in the polluted soil can be lowered.
