A “Proxi-Mapper” combines location based services (LBS), local searching capabilities, and relative mapping in a way that minimizes bandwidth requirements and maximizes user experience. The Proxi-Mapper automatically determines approximate locations of one or more local user devices (cell phones, PDA's, media players, portable computing devices, etc.) and returns a lightweight model of local entities (“key-points”) representing businesses, services or people to those devices. Key-points are maintained in one or more remote databases in which key-points are assigned to predetermined grid sections based on the locations of the corresponding entities. Metadata associated with the key-points provides the user with additional information relating to the corresponding entities. In various embodiments, user query options allow the Proxi-Mapper to pull or push relevant local key-point based information to user devices via one or more wired or wireless networks.

Visual Localization Within LIDAR Maps

An apparatus and method for visual localization of a visual camera system outputting real-time visual camera data and a graphics processing unit receiving the real-time visual camera data. The graphics processing unit accesses a database of prior map information and generates a synthetic image that is then compared to the real-time visual camera data to determine corrected position data. The graphics processing unit determines a camera position based on the corrected position data. A corrective system for applying navigation of the vehicle based on the determined camera position can be used in some embodiments.

Global calibration for stereo vision probe

A method for global calibration of a multi-view vision-based touch probe measurement system is provided which encompasses calibrating camera frame distortion errors as well as probe form errors. The only required features in the calibration images are the markers on the touch probe. The camera frame distortion calibration comprises a process that depends on a portable calibration jig and the touch probe, but that process is unaffected by probe form distortion errors in the touch probe and / or tip. The probe tip position calibration depends on applying the results of the camera, frame distortion calibration. When the same probe tip is used throughout the global calibration, the probe tip position calibration uses images from the set of images used by the camera frame distortion calibration. The global calibration method is particularly advantageous for low cost portable versions of multi-view vision-based touch probe measurement systems.

Address mapped repartitioned digital pixel

By adding stabilization and super-sampling to a digital pixel readout integrated circuit (ROIC), line of sight motion, that is usually costly and difficult to control, instead becomes an ally, doubling the effective FPA resolution in some systems. The base repartitioned digital pixel architecture supplements analog signal accumulation with off-pixel digital accumulation, greatly increasing dynamic range. Adding address mapping and increasing the ratio of memory locations to pixels, enables stabilization and resolution enhancement. Additional stabilization at sub-frame intervals limits the effect of latency and simplifies complex address mapping. Pixels gains are compensated in-ROIC, without requiring multipliers. A unique partitioning of functions between the ROIC and subsequent logic allows pixel biases and non-isomorphic sampling effects to be compensated off-ROIC, reducing overall system complexity and power.

Sequential probing of molecular targets based on pseudo-color barcodes with embedded error correction mechanism

The present invention, among other things, provides technologies for detecting and / or quantifying nucleic acids in cells, tissues, organs or organisms. Pre-designed barcodes are associated specific molecular targets through sequential hybridization experiments. A pseudo-color based barcoding scheme is developed to overcome limitations in the previous generation of the technology such as lack of visual signals that can be associated with the probes or small internal within cell when carrying out in situ experiments. The current method can be applied to both in vitro and in situ analysis. According to the method, each barcoding round comprises multiple serial hybridizations where a small number of colored signals (that are associated with probes) are used in each hybridization experiment within a serial hybridization round. Images from each serial hybridization experiment within the same serial hybridization round are combined to form a composite image for each barcoding round. In each barcoding round, the same set of molecular targets are analyzed. After all barcoding rounds are completed, associated of the barcode with these molecular targets is completed.
