A flange at the juncture of the two barrels houses an interior seal; and a flange under the driver head, an exterior seal. The smaller diameter barrel is coextensive with the drywall installation; and the length of the larger diameter barrel, with the rigid insulation. The interior seal seals the insertion point into the drywall installation; and the exterior seal, the opening of the anchor-receiving channel. The interior seal and the larger barrel of the anchor fill the anchor-receiving channel and stabilize the wall anchor. Also, the wall anchor is clamped in place by the seals. The stud-type anchor operates with a variety of veneer ties for different applications.

A waterproofing method is provided for a wire to be arranged in a water susceptible area of a vehicle. An insulating coating layer is removed in a lengthwise intermediate part of the wire to expose a core. A heat shrinkable tube with an inner layer made of a hot-melt waterproofing agent is mounted on the exposed core section and parts of the insulating coating layer adjacent to the exposed core section and heated. As a result, the hot-melt waterproofing agent of the inner layer is melted and infiltrates into clearances between strands of the exposed core section. In addition, negative pressure is introduced into the inside of the insulating coating layer from an end of the wire, thereby sucking the waterproofing agent into the inside of the insulating coating layer to infiltrate the waterproofing agent also between the strands of the core inside the insulating coating layer.

Alternatively the exposed core section is loaded with pressure air to press the waterproofing agent into the inside of the insulating coating layer. Thus the waterproofing agent is infiltrated between the strands inside the insulating coating layer.

A starter for cranking an internal combustion engine is mainly composed of an electric motor and a magnetic switch having a battery bolt connected to an on-board battery and a motor bolt connected to the electric motor. When the magnetic switch is closed, electric power is supplied to the electric motor to thereby generate a rotational torque for cranking the engine. One end of a motor terminal is electrically connected to the motor bolt, and the other end is led into a motor casing through a rubber insulator supported on the motor casing. The motor terminal includes one or more curved portions having resiliency, and they are positioned between the rubber insulator and the motor bolt. Water penetration into the motor casing is prevented by the rubber insulator, and the vibration of the motor terminal is alleviated by resiliency of the curved portions.
