Method and apparatus for controlling a read valid window of a synchronous memory device

A method and apparatus are shown for increasing a propagation delay that may be tolerated between a memory controller and a memory device. The present invention provides for selection between two data paths for each word, where a first data path latches the data word from a DQS domain on a falling edge of a CLK0 domain and a second data patch latches the data word from the DQS domain on a rising edge of the CLK0 domain. Selection of the first data path permits larger relative propagation delays between the controller and memory to be accommodated without loss of data. Further, multi-cycle source synchronous timing logic may be employed that provides for the capture of data words on rising and falling edges of successive cycles of the DQS domain and storage for an additional cycle of the DQS domain to extend the period of time that each data word from the DQS domain is available and valid for the CLK0 domain. Selection of the first data path may also be used to accommodate shorter relative propagation delays between the controller and memory without loss of data when the propagation delay is short enough that the data from the memory is valid in advance of a first falling edge of the CLK0 domain by a margin that is at least a set-up time interval for the controller.

Power supply and method for regulating supply voltage

In a preferred embodiment, there is provided a switched mode power supply operable in start-up mode, normal mode and standby mode. The power supply may comprise a transformer having a primary winding on a primary side and a secondary winding on a secondary side, the primary winding being coupleable to a DC input voltage, and circuitry on the secondary side being arranged to provide a DC output voltage; and a power controller. The power controller may comprise a regulation controller for regulating a DC supply voltage on a supply line during standby mode, and a high voltage device coupled to the DC input voltage and the supply line. The current through the high voltage device to the supply line, during standby mode, may be controlled by the regulation controller. During standby mode, when the supply voltage is greater than or equal to a reference voltage, the current through the high voltage device to the supply line is substantially zero. When the supply voltage is less than the reference voltage, the greater the difference between the supply voltage and the reference voltage, the greater the current through the high voltage device to the supply line. In other preferred embodiments, there is also provided the power controller itself and a method for regulating a supply voltage during standby mode.

A buried vault enclosure of fiber reinforced plastic, wherein earth material, such as dirt, sand, and rocks, substantially covers the entire enclosure. The vault enclosure includes a plurality of prefabricated panels formed from pultruded members having a plastic reinforced composition. The prefabricated panels, includes a plurality of bonded vertical panels, a floor panel attached to a lower end of the vertical panels; and a ceiling panel attached to an upper end of the vertical panels. The pultruded panels for constructing the vault enclosure include an outer planar sheet, an inner planar sheet and a plurality of support members that are spaced from each other. The support members are bonded or integrally connected between the inner sheet and the outer sheet so that the inner and outer sheets sandwich the support members. Each support member preferably includes opposing substantially planar surfaces for supporting the inner and outer sheets and a web member between the planner surface. A method of making a vault enclosure includes pultruding a plurality of panel members, including sheets, support members and angles members. Another step includes assembling or connecting the panel members together to form a plurality of panels for constructing the enclosure. The method further includes forming the enclosure by bonding the panels together with an adhesive or an adhesive system.
