A cowl assembly for an engine nacelle including a first and second cowl door mounted for movement between an open position and a closed position. A latch assembly retains the first and second cowl doors in the closed position by having a latch retained in a latch housing on the first cowl door to engage a keeper retained in a keeper housing on the second cowl door. A pin retains the latch to the latch housing. The pin defines an internal bore. A sensor in the internal bore determines a signal indicative of a load on the pin, wherein the signal is determinative of whether the cowl doors are in the open or closed position. A transmitter conveys the signal to a location remote from the sensor. The signal can also be used to set the pre-load on the latch assembly.

Method for stabilizing and conditioning urban and industrial wastewater sludge

The invention concerns a method for stabilizing and conditioning wastewater sludge. The invention is characterized in that it consists in treating sludge in an acid environment (3.0≦pH≦5.0), with an inorganic acid and two oxidizing agents, that is a ferric iron salt and hydrogen peroxide. The ferric iron salt is used in such an amount as to obtain a concentration ranging between 5 and 40 kg of Fe per iron of dry sludge; the hydrogen peroxide is used in such an amount as to obtain a concentration ranging between 5 and 40 kg of H2O2 per ton of dry sludge; mixing the treated sludge for a time interval sufficient to stabilize the sludge and improve its dehydrability; then flocculating the stabilized sludge by adding an organic polymer; then dehydrating the flocculated sludge. Said method enables to significantly improve the dehydrability properties of the sludge while increasing the dry solid content during its mechanical dehydration.

The invention concerns a method for stabilizing and conditioning wastewater sludge. An applicator die for crimping open loop type terminals to wire leads comprising applicator housing, a plurality of blades and a plurality of housing. An applicator housing is provided which is extended or retracted vertically in response to an applicator force applied thereto. An insulation blade housing with an insulation blade and a core blade housing, with a core blade are movingly disposed inside the applicator housing. Prior to a crimping operation, the applicator housing is retracted and a terminal is moved into position and aligned with the insulation and core blades. A lead wire is also positioned inside the terminal. As the applicator housing descends in response to the applicator force, it pushes the lead wire down into contact with the terminal. A cam lever, acting under the influence of the applicator force, moves a cam vertically, bringing together complementary members of an insulation anvil and a core anvil. As the complementary members of the insulation anvil come together, they pinch the terminal to prevent movement of the terminal during crimping. As the applicator housing descends, the insulation blade housing and core blade housing move from the first position to slidingly embrace the insulation and core anvils. The core blade and insulation blade reach the second or extended position in which they crimp the terminal to a lead wire.

A fifth wheel lubricating system for greasing the interface between the upper and lower fifth wheel plates while the trailer is couple to the tractor. The system supplies grease form a cartridge that is coupled to a solenoid activated grease valve and controlled by means of an electrical controller mounted in the cab or on the catwalk of the fifth wheel tractor. The grease gun is operated pneumatically from an onboard air compressor or can be manually operated by means of a hand pump lever built into the grease gun. A primary grease hose carries grease from the grease valve to a grease distribution hub, where it is distributed to two or more distribution hoses that connect to the bottom side of the tractor mounted lower fifth wheel plate. The grease is forced up through holes in the lower fifth wheel plate, into grease slots on the top side of the lower plate. In operation, the driver can push a button on the controller and force a desired amount of grease into the grease slots located at the interface between the upper and lower fifth wheel plates, thereby providing a more convenient, cleaner, and more efficient means of lubricating a fifth wheel.
