The invention discloses a method for producing alkyd resins by recycling esterification waste water of the alkyd resins and application of the alkyd resins. The alkyd resins are produced by the following raw materials in parts by weight: 160-180 parts of soya oil acid, 25-30 parts of benzoic acid, 3-5 parts of maleic anhydride, 250-280 parts of phthalic anhydride, 110-130 parts of pentaerythritol, 160-200 parts of recycled extracts of the esterification waste water of the alkyd resins, 20-30 parts of reflux dimethylbenzene, 250-280 parts of diluted dimethylbenzene and 1-3 parts of subtractive colour antioxidants. On the one hand, the useful substances in the esterification waste water are effectively recycled to produce the alkyd resins, thus lowering the resin formula cost, and on the other hand, after the raw esterification waste water is treated by the preparation method of the invention, COD of the distilled waste water is reduced from the number more than 200000 of the raw waste water to the number less than 3000 and BOD is reduced from the number more than 50000 of the raw waste water to the number less than 1000, thus improving the treatment capacity of biochemical sewage and lowering the treatment expenses.
