A current replication circuit that avoids the LEB period restriction of a DC-DC boost converter. The DC-DC boost converter regulates an output voltage by switching an input voltage through an inductor and a diode using a switch controller employing current feedback control and providing a PWM signal to control a switch coupled to the inductor. The current replication circuit includes a current sensor, a ramp generator, and a summing device. The current sensor samples current through the inductor while the switch is off and provides a sample voltage indicative of inductor current just before the switch is turned on. The ramp generator provides a ramp voltage replicating current increase of the inductor while the switch is on. The summing device adds the sample voltage to the ramp voltage to develop a replication voltage used for feedback current control by the switch controller.

A feedforward control section computes, on the basis of a target current absolute value, a voltage limit value of a motor drive circuit, and a rotational speed ωr of a motor, a phase angle of a voltage vector which represents the output voltage of the motor drive circuit by a d-q coordinate system, the phase angle being a phase angle in relation to the d-axis of the d-q coordinate system. A feedback control section computes a phase angle based on a deviation between the target current absolute value and the actual current absolute value. A PWM control signal generation section outputs PWM control signals such that the motor drive circuit outputs a three-phase drive voltage whose electrical angle is advanced by a phase angle. Thus, in the case where a large reverse input is applied to a steering mechanism, the motor is caused to generate a large torque to thereby prevent the steering wheel from being rotated.

Method and apparatus for sensor calibration and adjustable pump time in a dewatering system

A dewatering system includes a selective calibrating sensor circuit configured to receive sensor readings from an electronic sensor, to determine if the electronic sensor is immersed in water, to allow a user to adjust a pump down time in the field, and to generate a control output signal accordingly. The selective calibrating sensor circuit periodically performs a self-calibration when the electronic sensor is not immersed in water to cancel the effect of potential contaminants deposited on the electronic sensor over its operating life. The selective calibrating sensor circuit inhibits calibration when the electronic sensor is immersed in water. In some applications with multiple electronic sensors, the selective calibrating sensor circuit disconnects from one of the electronic sensors before performing the self-calibration.
