Air purifier

Provided is an air purifier capable of increased air purification properties due to charged particles being blown out. A first air-blower blasts air, thus drawing air in from the outside to a first air-flow path, and an air-purification unit purifies the air and blows out same. A second air blower blasts air, thus drawing air in from the outside to a second air-flow path, and the air is blown out together with charged particles generated by a charged particle generator. A control unit controls the amount of air blasted by the second air-blower, according to the amount of air blasted by the first air-blower. Alternatively, the control unit controls the angle to be adjusted by the regulator, according to the amount of air blasted by the first air-blower.

Onsite chemistry air filtration system

An onsite chemistry air filtration system to remove gaseous contaminants from air is disclosed. The onsite chemistry air filtration system of the present invention comprises: a conventional particulate filtration section, a photochemical filtration section, a static gas phase filtration section and a catalytic filtration section. The conventional particulate filtration section captures solids and condensables. In the photochemical filtration section, UV lamps generate bio-destruction and surface photochemical activity on a semiconductor catalyst material, provide a radiation source to irradiate airborne contaminant molecules and to energize their states to promote reactions and generate airborne ozone and radicals. In the static gas phase filtration section, gas phase filtration media is used to capture contaminants, concentrate them in a relatively confined space and allow airborne generated chemistries to concentrate and react in-situ, thereby creating a regeneration effect on the media. In the catalytic filtration section, catalytic media scavenges and converts airborne radicals and ozone to harmless by-products.

Method for detecting a fault in an HVAC system

A bypass factor of an evaporator is used to indicate when an air filter of an HVAC is clogged. The bypass factor represents the amount of air that is bypassed without direct contact with the evaporator. As the air filter clogs, the bypass factor decreases. The bypass factor can also be used for early detection of clogging of the air filter. A first bypass factor is calculated by using the temperature measurements, and a second bypass factor is calculated by using the airflow rate of the air. The difference between the two bypass factors determines the error. An increase in the error indicates that the air filter is clogged. A coefficient of performance of the evaporator can also be calculated to detect if the air filter is clogged. A decrease in the coefficient of performance indicates that the air filter is clogged.

InactiveUS20080035472A1Safely used directlySafe storageElectric circuitsDeodrantsBiologyElectron
This invention relates to a method of sterilizing air that contains airborne pathogenic agents or microorganisms such as spores, bacteria, viruses, yeasts and moulds The method consists in damaging and braking up the contaminant molecular structure by oxidation and ionization and chemical bond rupture. Through this process the microorganisms or the contaminants are inactivated through structural damages to the cellular membrane and / or the nucleus membrane and / or to the DNA structure. This is accomplished by creating through the air to be treated, various electronic current having a plurality of specific controlled average kinetic energies matching the desired chemical bonds to be affected and / or ruptured. The air interaction with such various currents, having specific energies, sufficient intensities and exposition time is accomplished through several stages to completely sterilize the air or gas. The air or gas is then processed to remove undesirable by-products that may be present so that it can be used directly or stored.
