A seat mounting rail suitable for mounting passenger seats to a floor, for example an aircraft cabin floor, is divided into an upper section for securing a seat and a lower section for mounting the rail to the floor. The upper section is preferably made of a titanium alloy. The lower section is preferably made of an aluminum alloy. Both sections are connected to each other by an interconnection preferably in the form of a metallurgical bond formed under heat and pressure. A bonding metal foil compatible with the metals of which the rail sections are made is used for enhancing the bonding strength of the interconnection.

A novel aerial boom system for use atop a vehicle and having linear movement sensors associated with hydraulic cylinders for moving lower and upper booms such that a microprocessor associated with the system can determine the instantaneous position of each boom and coordinate movement of the booms with respect to each other and with the vehicle to prevent undesired contact and to gradually decelerate boom movement as the boom approaches its limits to avoid shock from sudden stop of boom movement. When the novel system is used with a fire fighting vehicle, two variably spaced, independently controllable, fluid discharge nozzles can be used to fight one or two separate and distinct fires simultaneously. A piercing nozzle can be associated with the outer end of the upper boom that is independently controllable in both the vertical plane and in the horizontal direction to enable piercing of a wall independent of boom movement to assist penetration.

A circulating fluidized bed boiler has reduced corrosion in the exchanging tube in an external heat exchanger. The circulating fluidized bed boiler has a furnace which combusts a fuel which is fluidized together with a bed material, a cyclone dust collector into which an flue gas which is generated by the combustion in the furnace is introduced and which catches particles in the flue gas, a separation loop, in a seal box, which separates corrosive components from the particles so as not to introduce the corrosive components to the external heat exchanger which is arranged downstream of the seal box.

Disclosed is an electrolyte comprising: (a) an electrolyte salt; (b) a non-aqueous electrolyte solvent; and (c) a binary or multinary metal oxide salt. An electrochemical device comprising the same electrolyte is also disclosed. The metal oxide salt used in the electrolyte is dissolved in a non-aqueous solvent and generates oxyanions capable of improving corrosion resistance of metals. Therefore. the electrolyte prevents corrosion of metallic materials present in an electrochemical device, caused by extreme conditions, such as overcharge, overdischarge and high-temperature storage conditions, to which the device is exposed. Further, the electrolyte prevents degradation in the quality of an electrochemical device, caused by corrosion of metallic materials.

A touch device is provided, including a first substrate and a circuit board. The first substrate includes a touch sensing structure and a plurality of first electrodes. A container (2) is filled with a fused salt (6), and one or more anodes (14) contact the fused salt. A cathode (18) is loaded with feedstock and engages with a transport apparatus (22, 36, 40) which locates and moves the cathode past the anodes(s), while the cathode and the feedstock contact the fused salt. As the cathode moves past the anodes(s), a voltage applied between the cathode and the anode(s) electrochemically reduces the solid feedstock to form the product.

A coherent growth substrate product formed of man-made vitreous fibres (MMVF) bonded with a cured binder composition and a wetting agent is described, wherein the binder composition prior to curing comprises the following components:—a component (i) in form of one or more carbohydrates;—a component (ii) in form of one or more compounds selected from sulfamic acid, derivatives of sulfamic acid or any salt thereof. Heat from solar or nuclear heat sources is applied to provide at least a portion of the heat used in a cyclic petroleum refining process in which a hydrocarbon feedstream is contacted with a solid particulate contact material in a first step to treat the feedstream after which the solid contact material is separated or disengaged from the treated feedstream and regenerated in a separate regeneration zone before being returned to the first step for contact with additional feedstream. The entire cycle may be characterized as including an endothermic step, generally a reduction, and an exothermic step, generally an oxidation, with heat from the exothermic step being transferred from the exothermic step to the endothermic step by means of the circulating contact material. The application of the nuclear or solar heat may be applied to whichever step of the process requires heat from external sources. This technique may be applied to a method of regenerating catalysts and sorbents used in gas refining processes for removing contaminants from hydrocarbons and other gases including natural gas and syngas as well as to the FCC process.

The window for the acid-base tank at least includes a supporting plate, an annular washer, a transparent observe window and a transparent separation plate. The supporting plate has the same shape as the opening on the sidewall of the cleaning machine, is disposed on the opening, and has a first window opening. The annular washer is disposed on the supporting plate around the first window opening. The transparent observe window is pressed and covered on the annular washer. The transparent separation plate located between the supporting plate and the acid-base tank is disposed on the supporting plate and covers the first window opening. Furthermore, the chemical resistance of the transparent separation plate is better than that of quartz.
