The invention relates to a method for shortening the wakeup time of a mobile terminal through the prediction of user wakeup intention. The mobile terminal has a work state and a sleep state. The method is characterized in that the mobile terminal is further provided with a pre-wakeup state. The method comprises the following steps: 1) a sensor responds to an external operation which satisfies a triggering condition to wake up a CPU (Central Processing Unit) when the mobile terminal is under the sleep state; 2) the CPU judges a reason why the CPU is woken up, and a step 4) is executed when the CPU is woken up by the sensor's response to the external operation, and a step 3) is executed if the CPU is not woken up by the sensor's response to the external operation; 3) the CPU judges the reason why the CPU is woken up, a step 5) is executed if the CPU is woken up by a wakeup module; 4) the mobile terminal enters the pre-wakeup state, a plurality of peripheral devices work, and a screen does not work; and 5) the wakeup module responds to the external operation to wake up the mobile terminal, and the mobile terminal enters the work state. The method has the advantages of being simple in steps, convenient in implementation and favorable in user experience.
