30 results about "Dacryocystitis" patented technology

Dacryocystitis is an infection of the lacrimal sac, secondary to obstruction of the nasolacrimal duct at the junction of lacrimal sac. The term derives from the Greek dákryon (tear), cysta (sac), and -itis (inflammation). It causes pain, redness, and swelling over the inner aspect of the lower eyelid and epiphora. When nasolacrimal duct obstruction is secondary to a congenital barrier it is referred to as dacrocystocele. It is most commonly caused by Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pneumoniae. The most common complication is corneal ulceration, frequently in association with S. pneumoniae. The mainstays of treatment are oral antibiotics, warm compresses, and relief of nasolacrimal duct obstruction by dacryocystorhinostomy.

Method for preparing degradable artificial ductulus lacrimalis

The invention discloses a preparation method of a degradable artificial lacrimal canaliculus and its clinical application in treating lacrimal duct obstruction or dacryocystitis. The main components of the artificial lacrimal canaliculus are biodegradable type I collagen, chitosan and medical polyvinyl alcohol. Type I collagen has the effect of rapidly stopping bleeding and promoting wound healing, chitosan can play the role of antibacterial, anti-adhesion, and anti-scar, and polyvinyl alcohol enhances the supporting capacity of artificial lacrimal canaliculus. The lacrimal canaliculus produced by the invention has an inner diameter of 0.5-0.7mm, an outer diameter of 0.9-1.5mm, and a length of ≥20mm. The ingredients are evenly mixed, the inner and outer surfaces are smooth, and the lacrimal canaliculus has good toughness and elasticity, and is convenient for clinical operations. After 10 to 30 minutes of contact with water, it quickly absorbs water and swells, which can play a role in mechanical positioning and preventing the lacrimal canaliculus from slipping. After the wound is healed, the small tube is gradually degraded, and the degradation product can flow out from the nasal cavity with tears, without the need for secondary surgery to remove it, which improves the effect of treating lacrimal duct obstruction and avoids abrasions caused by secondary surgery. According to the different requirements of degradation time, a certain degree of chemical cross-linking can be carried out on the lacrimal canaliculus to adjust its degradation rate in the lacrimal duct.

Method for preparing degradable artificial ductulus lacrimalis

The invention discloses a preparation method of a degradable artificial lacrimal duct, and the clinical application of the lacrimal duct on the treatment of lacrimal passage blockage or dacryocystitis. The main components of the artificial lacrimal duct comprises biodegradable I type collagen, chitosan, and medical polyvinyl alcohol. The I type collagen has the effect of rapidly arresting bleeding and accelerating the wound healing, the chitosan has the function of bacteriostasis, anti blocking and anti cicatrix, and the polyvinyl alcohol enhances the supporting ability of the artificial lacrimal duct. The inner diameter of the invention is 0.5 to 0.7 mm, the outer diameter is 0.9 to 1.5 mm, for the lacrimal duct which has length larger than or equal to 20 mm, the components mixing is even, the inner surface and the outer surface are flat, thereby having good tenacity and elasticity, and being suitable for the clinical operation. After the lacrimal duct is contacted with water for 10 to 30 minutes, the water is absorbed rapidly and the invention is swelled, and the functions of mechanical locating and preventing the lacrimal duct from gliding can be realized. After the wound is healed, the lacrimal duct is gradually degraded, the degradation product can flow out from the nasal cavity along with tears, and the second time operation is not required to take off the degradation product, the effect of curing the blockage of the lacrimal passage is improved, and the abrasion caused by the second time operation is avoided. Chemical crosslink in a specific degree also can be performed to the lacrimal duct according to different requirements of degrading time to adjust the degrading speed inside the lacrimal passage.
