According to the zeolite molecular sieve adopted as the adsorbent, the opening aperture width of a main pore passage is 0.50-0.55 nm, the crystal framework density is 15.5-20.1 T/nm<3>, the mole ratio of silica to alumina in a crystal framework structure is 4 to all silicon, and structure type codes are EUO, FER, ITH, LAU, MEL, MFI, MFS, MTT, MWW, STI, STT, SZR, BRE, EAB, ERI, ITW, TUN, MER and RWR. When the adsorbent is used for adsorption separation of a gaseous mixture of p-cresol and m-cresol, the adsorption selectivity of the p-cresol relative to all cresol is 82.1-100%, and the highest adsorption amount of the p-cresol on the adsorbent can be 250.5 mg/g. Accordingly, adsorption separation of the p-cresol and the m-cresol can be achieved by an vapor-phase fixed bed adsorption separation process.
