sediment thickness detection device and detection method. The device comprises a cylindrical 
steel bar cage, an ultrasonic treatment device, measuring assemblies, measuring pipes, a support, an ultrasonic transmitting device and an ultrasonic receiving device; each measuring 
assembly comprises a measuring 
rope with scales, a measuring hammer and a 
pulley; the measuring pipes are parallel to the axis of the 
steel bar cage and can vertically move relative to the 
steel bar cage; one end of each measuring 
rope is connected with the corresponding measuring hammer, and the other end of the measuring 
rope winds around the corresponding 
pulley. The method comprises the following steps that 1, the steel bar cage is pressed into the hole bottom, and the 
tail ends of the measuring pipes are located below the designed elevation; 2, a pair of the measuring pipes are selected as measuring channels, and a pair of the measuring hammers are put into the measuring pipes respectively; 3, the measuring hammers are synchronously descended. According to the device or the method, by selecting the different measuring channels, not only can the 
pile bottom 
sediment thickness be precisely measured, but also the 
sediment shape can be known, and the 
pile body quality can be comprehensively known.
