78 results about "Arterial aneurysm" patented technology

In medicine, an arterial aneurysm is an outpouching, or bulge, that develops in the wall of an artery. Arterial aneurysms occur in the arteries, which are the blood vessels that carry blood away from the heart. These are much more common than venous aneurysms, similar bulges that occur in the veins,...

Apparatus and method for treatment of cerebral aneurysms, arterial-vascular malformations and arterial fistulas

An apparatus and method for stabilization of aneurysm is disclosed. The apparatus comprises an ultraviolet radiation generator for generating UV radiation having a wavelength, strongly absorbed by the DNA and a catheter including means for delivering the ultraviolet radiation to the aneurysm. The distal end of the catheter is placed inside the aneurysm. Stabilization of the aneurysm is achieved by forming a mural arterial thrombus inside the aneurysm. To make irradiation possible, the blood is displaced from the aneurysm by a steady stream of UV radiation transparent fluid. The injury to the endothelium that triggers the thrombus formation is caused by UV radiation delivered to the aneurysm. In several days after intervention the thrombus becomes fully organized, leaving on the inside surface of the aneurysm a thick layer of fibrotic tissue that stabilizes the aneurysm.

The invention relates to a novel intracranial aneurysm plugging device and a manufacturing method thereof. The plugging device comprises a plugging device body, developing marks, a conveying guide wire, a separation point, a conveying tube and a separator. The developing marks are fixed to the far end and the near end of the plugging device body respectively. The plugging device body is in a net shape woven by 24-72 strands of nickel-titanium memory alloy wires. After the plugging device is completed expanded, the developing marks are arranged at the far end and the near end respectively, andthe nickel-titanium memory alloy wires at the far end and the near end of the plugging device body are bundled and fixed through the developing marks respectively. The conveying guide wire is locatedin the conveying tube. The separation point is arranged between the developing mark at the near end of the plugging device body and the far end of the conveying guide wire. The near end of the conveying guide wire is connected with the separator. According to the manufacturing method of the plugging device, shaping is carried out through a plugging device mold. Under the is condition of not opening the skull, for large arterial aneurysm with the upper portion narrower than the lower portion and forky arterial aneurysm, the plugging device body is implanted, the plugging device is stable in structure, a tumor cavity can be fast and densely filled after the plugging device is expanded, and therefore flowing of blood in an arterial aneurysm cavity is retarded, the impact pressure of the bloodon the tumor cavity is reduced, the restoration capacity is enhanced, and the aim of treating the arterial aneurysm is achieved.

Film-covered woven body system for embolic arterial aneurysms

The invention discloses a film-covered woven body system for embolic arterial aneurysms in the field of medical appliances. The film-covered woven body system comprises a meshed woven body and a delivery system connected with the woven body, the woven body is of a gourd-shaped double-layer spherical structure after being released, the bottom of the woven body is flat, and a connection part of the woven body and the delivery system is arranged inside the woven body, that is, the connection part is arranged not to protrude out of the woven body. The inner surface or the outer surface of the woven body is covered by a film. The film is made of polytetrafluoroethylene and the like and is arranged in one layer or a plurality of layers. Complete film coverage or partial film coverage can be adopted, but the bottom of the woven body needs be fully covered by the film. Compared with a woven body with no covering film, blood can be prevented more effectively from entering the arterial aneurysm to cause impact on the aneurysm wall. Effects can be improved along with increase of the number of film layers. Meanwhile, since the inner side of the woven body is covered by the film, meshes of the surface of the woven body can be made relatively sparse, the number of woven yarns for the woven body can be decreased, the size of the external contour can be reduced, and resistance in in-vivo delivery can also be reduced.
