Electronic pipe personal vaporizer with concealed removable atomizer/ cartomizer

A porous ceramic atomized cartridge contains a heating element, a porous ceramic wick, and the liquid to be vaporized removably concealed within the body of an electronic simulated smoking pipe. Adjustment of the spacing of a circular disc heating element relative to the porous ceramic wick adjusts the level of atomization. All components are easily removable and replaceable and cleaned. A bowl of the pipe is used as an open battery chamber to allow any battery fumes to escape and allow easy removal and replacement of the battery. A conductive contact arm pivots between contact with the battery and the pipe body to control power. Vapor is activated by a manual push button switch or an automatic sound activated switch responsive to the puffing sound of a user.

Virtual Disk Mapping

A storage area network can include a storage virtualization entity—intelligent storage application resource (iSAR)—either as a separate device in the fabric, or as an integrated module in one or more switches within the fabric. All I / O operations can be re-directed to iSAR for processing. iSAR can segment virtual storage and physical storage into units, where each unit of the virtual storage is mapped to a single unit in physical storage. Data associated with incoming I / O operation can be compressed before being stored in physical storage. iSAR includes overflow reserve storage at the block, sub-page and page level to accommodate changes in compressed data size on subsequent I / O operations. These measures can improve I / O performance and reduce fragmentation. iSAR can also employ deduplication of incoming data stored on physical storage to improve storage efficiency.

Method for routing and spectrum assignment

Methods and apparatus are disclosed for performing a spectrum assignment and route selection algorithm in an optical WDM network. The optical WDM is assigned an optical band of frequencies. In accordance to the present invention, a new spectrum assignment in the optical band always adjoins a spectrum assignment previously allocated. The very first spectrum assignment may be made to start with one end frequency in the optical band. Given a spectrum demand, one or more spectrum assignments are identified and one or more feasible routes are determined. Among the one or more feasible routes, an optimal route may be selected based on a set of pre-defined criteria. The spectrum assignment and route selection algorithm disclosed herein reduces computational complexities and improves spectrum efficiencies.

Allocation of upstream bandwidth in an ethernet passive optical network

A passive optical network (PON) in accordance with the invention uses a superframe having a number of subframes arranged in a two-dimensional array, wherein for normal data transfer subframes are allocated to each optical network unit (ONU) column by column, left to right, and within each column subframes are allocated from top to the bottom. Initially, for ranging, at least two subframes are allocated to an ONU, adjacent to a diagonal of the superframe (which may go from the top left corner of the superframe to the bottom right corner, or alternatively from the top right corner to the bottom left corner). In some embodiments, instead of allocating subframes column by column, the subframes are evenly spaced apart from one another, and conflicts with a previous allocation are resolved by adjustment, and optionally an evaluation function may be used to find an optimal allocation.

Methods and a device for changing the message size broadcast over a network and furthermore preventing fragmentation in networks are provided. The device intercepts a message transported across a network, wherein the message is sent from a data source to a data receiver and changes the message size. In addition, the device may use the methods to change the message size of data transmitted over a network thus reducing fragmentation. As a result, network devices such as classifiers preferably avoid re-assembling fragments. More specifically by reducing re-assembling, network devices like a classifier can react more quickly to applications requiring information found in both of an IP and TCP / UDP header.

Message fragment sending method, device and network equipment

The invention discloses a message fragment sending method, device and network equipment. The method comprises the following steps: processing a message transferred from a transmission layer at an IP (Internet protocol) layer, wherein fragmentation operation is avoided from being carried out on the message in the processing process; processing the message processed at the IP layer at a data link layer, and delivering the message to a communication interface sending the message; comparing the length value of the message processed at the data link layer with a value of the MTU (maximum transmission unit) of the interface; and if the length value is greater than the value of the MTU, fragmenting the message processed at the data link layer according to the value of the MTU and sending through the communication interface. Compared with the prior art, the invention has the advantages that the flow of fragmenting and sending a relatively long message is simplified, and the problem that the system performance is influenced due to the excessive occupation of a CPU (central processing unit) and storage bandwidth by the fragments at the IP layer is avoided.
