The invention relates generally to an implantable medical device for delivering a therapeutic agent to the body tissue of a patient, and a method for making such a medical device. In particular, the invention pertains to an implantable medical device, such as an intravascular stent, having a coating comprising a first coating composition comprising a therapeutic agent and, optionally, a polymer; and a second coating composition comprising a metallic material.

Devices and methods for tissue approximation and distribution of tissue stresses and tension resulting therefrom. The devices comprise a shank having one or more structures thereon, an anchor button fixedly attached to one end of the shank with the opposite end of the shank being suitable for penetration of tissues or other structures. To secure the device, the shank engages with a locking button having a locking mechanism thereon. The locking button is engaged with the shank, preferably after a tissue approximation, so that the locking button can be advanced along the shank towards the anchor button compressing the approximated tissues between the anchor button and the locking button.

A light emitting device comprises: a thermally conductive substrate (MCPCB); at least one LED mounted in thermal communication with a surface of the substrate; a housing attached to the substrate and configured such the housing and substrate together define a volume that totally encloses the at least one LED, the housing comprising at least a part that is light transmissive (window); and at least one phosphor material provided on an inner surface of the housing within said volume said phosphor being operable to absorb at least a part of the excitation light emitted by the at least one light emitting diode and to emit light of a second wavelength range. The housing is attached to the substrate such that the volume is substantially water tight, preferably air/gas tight.

The design of an integrated circuit device is simplified by employing reusable modules to avoid or reduce the need to design special purpose glue logic otherwise needed to interconnect the modules. Functional modules comprise interface circuits that are interconnected by buses and operate according to prescribed bus-access protocols. As compared to conventional electrodes, the electrode configurations disclosed herein minimize irritation and damage to the skin when they are placed in contact with a patient's body over extended of time. Managing rich media can include producing, editing, distributing, syndicating, tracking and viewing rich media content, contacts and other data and can be accomplished without expertise in computer programming. The rich media content can be distributed and/or syndicated to multiple destinations across the network and simultaneously edited across every destination. Additionally, the tool can track usage of the distributed rich media content.

Embodiments of the present invention provide an interface device and method for command processing for commands requiring data flow in both directions on a Fiber Channel or other data transport protocol exchange. The commands can include proprietary commands, SCSI linked commands or other commands known in the art. According to one embodiment, an interface device can assign a command a data flow direction indicator. When a reply to the command is received, the interface device can determine if the reply is expected or unexpected based on the data flow direction specified by the data flow direction indicator. If the reply is unexpected, the interface device can determine whether to process the reply. According to one embodiment, the data flow direction indicator can be the exchange identification.

Generating a simulator from an architecture description. A target architecture model described in an architecture description language (ADL) is accessed. The model comprises a semantic representation of an instruction set for the target architecture. The semantic representation is translated to a behavioral representation. The simulator is automatically generated from the behavioral representation. A compiler may also be generated from the semantic representation.

Tensioning of a band clamp about an object under electrical control is provided using a control system operably connected to a banding system. The banding system includes a number of mechanical components involved with tightening, cutting and locking the band clamp, as well as removing a tail portion thereof. The control system is operably connected to the assemblies of the banding system to automatically control at least certain operations associated with performing the functions of the apparatus. The banding system includes: a band tightening assembly including a mandrel about which the tail portion can be wrapped during the band tightening operation; a band cutting/locking assembly including a removable cutting device used in forming the lock and severing the tail portion; and a band ejection assembly used in removing the severed tail portion from the apparatus. The control system preferably includes a load cell that outputs an electrical signal related to the actual tension being applied to the band clamp during the tightening operation. The control system also includes an input/output device for receiving and outputting information related to the functions performed by the banding and control systems.

A toothbrush apparatus comprises a toothbrush head having a bristle portion at its one end portion comprising bristles and at its other end portion a handle. Fluid supply means provides pressurized fluid to the bristle portion and has an inlet connectable to a source of fluid, for example a faucet, and an outlet formed in the bristle portion. Suction means having an inlet associated with the bristle portion evacuates waste from the oral cavity of a user for disposal. Approaches for limiting exploitable or potentially exploitable sub-components in software components are disclosed. In certain implementations, a first software component in the component creation environment may be identified. The first software component may include a first sub-component that provides a function that is exploitable or potentially exploitable to compromise the first software component. The first sub-component may be disabled such that the function provided by the first sub-component is not available via the first software component when the first software component is executed. The first software component may be placed in the component repository after the first sub-component is disabled such that the first software component is placed in the component repository without availability of the function provided by the first sub-component. In some implementations, disabling the first sub-component may comprise removing the first sub-component from the first software component.

An electrical vehicle including a vehicle body, a passenger compartment, a chassis supporting the passenger compartment, a plurality of wheels and at least one electrical motor for driving the wheels. A battery compartment of the vehicle is configured to removably mount therein a plurality of more than two rechargeable batteries which are movable into position in the battery compartment by a battery conveyor system which has a battery access opening through which batteries are installed or removed, one by one, to and from the battery compartment. In the battery compartment, a connection mechanism effects the needed mechanical and electrical connections. An overall control system controls the conveyor system and the connection mechanism to enable rapid replacement of the removable batteries, whereby an electrical vehicle can be instantly driven, even after its batteries have been discharged by a replacement of the discharged batteries and the installation of freshly charged batteries.

An antenna arrangement, a system, and method are provided for implementing a wireless communication module capable of performing adaptive beam forming, with a small antenna sail area. The antenna has a large horizontal to vertical aspect ratio. The antenna module is designed to include very few, or potentially a single radiating element in the vertical direction, and many elements in the horizontal direction, in order to create narrow beam in the azimuth plane, while maintaining a small sail area. The novel form factor advantageously provides for reduced wind loading, and for less conspicuous installations on buildings or towers, for example. The module is anticipated to find widespread applications in LOS and NLOS backhaul applications, and other wireless links between stationary nodes.

A system for managing bulk product dispensing and sale in a retail establishment includes a bulk product dispenser for dispensing bulk product into a re-usable container which includes an ID tag identifying said container. A user interface receives a product fill request for a bulk product selected from a plurality of bulk products capable of being dispensed. Then a dispenser controller verifies the compatibility of said product fill request with said container by verifying the product requested satisfies restrictions based on information associated with the ID tag, and responsive to said verifying, either controlling said dispenser to fill said container with the requested product, or displaying a warning to a user if the request is not compatible.

Embodiments of the present invention generate identification rules to classify requests as corresponding to particular transactions. Embodiments of the present invention examine a set of sample requests, determine patterns in the sample requests and generate identification rules based on the request patterns to classify subsequent requests as corresponding to particular transactions. As more sample requests are processed, embodiments of the present invention can update the identification rules. Put another way, embodiments of the present invention can automatically learn how to classify requests better as more requests are processed.

Systems and methods for mixing and dispensing an aqueous urea solution at the point of delivery to diesel powered vehicles. A stand alone terminal or modular unit that mixes and dispenses the dilute solution on an as-needed batch basis. Each delivery terminal includes a dry or concentrated liquid urea reservoir, and a metering urea dispenser, along with a parallel demineralized water reservoir and a metering water dispenser. The demineralized water may be provided directly from an external source or the system may include a demineralizing component. The metered dispensing of the urea and the water into a mixing tank to produce the aqueous urea solution (AUS) is controlled through an electronic control system. From the mixing tank the system directs the solution through a sediment filtration system before retaining the mixed and filtered solution in a terminal holding and dispensing tank.

A light source for a photo-reactive curing apparatus is provided, which includes a plurality of light source elements or modules, such as, UV or visible LEDs or LED arrays, arranged to provide a beam profile comprising irradiation zones separated by a dark zone. Photo-polymerization occurs during periods of irradiation and dark polymerization occurs during dark intervals between irradiation. The relative positioning or spacing of light source elements or modules is set to provide an exposure profile with a dark interval which matches the required dark reaction interval for optimal curing efficiency. In modular or adjustable light sources, the spacing is adjustable dependent on process parameters. For processes such as inkjet printing, the beam profile may be better matched to the ink chemistry, so as to control the polymerization reaction to meet a required process speed for single pass or multiple pass applications.

The present invention relates to laminates of a plasticizer-containing plastic, obtained by bonding by means of a moisture-reactive hot-melt adhesive which comprises at least one aldimine and at least one polyurethane polymer which contains isocyanate groups and is solid at room temperature. The bonded assembly is notable for improved adhesive, particularly following heat/moisture storage or alternating storage. Preferred embodiments of such laminates are bonded films or film-laminated supports, the film preferably being a pPVC film.
