The invention relates to a novel sliding and folding container. The novel sliding and folding container comprises a base plate, a fixed connecting plate, a side plate I, a side plate II, a side plate III, a side plate IV, a top plate and bases. Each base is provided with two slideways. The base plate is installed on the bases. The side plate I is connected with the base plate through the fixed connecting plate. The side plate II and the side plate III are connected to two mutually perpendicular side edges of the base plate through movable connecting pieces respectively. The top plate is connected with the top end of the side plate IV through two movable connecting pieces and a movable connecting plate. The bottom end of the side plate IV is connected with a slide bar which is arranged in the primary slideways of the bases. When the container is in a folded state, the side plate III is located on the base plate, the side plate II is located on the side plate III, the side plate I is located on the side plate II, and the side pale IV and the top plate are located in the slideways of the bases respectively. When the novel sliding and folding container is not used, the container can be folded and stored, the folded container is in a shape that the six plates are overlapped, so the novel sliding and folding container is small in occupied storage space and capable of being stored indoors, damage of wind and sun to the container is reduced and the service life of the novel sliding and folding container is prolonged.
