Apparatus and method for simulation of combustion effects in a fireplace

The present invention produces a combustion simulation of flames, burning logs and embers in a fuel-burning fireplace or like device. One or more light source(s), such as LEDs, are used to transmit light to and through: a flame cut-out panel or flame cut-out mask to simulate the flame effect; cut-outs in logs to simulate a burning edge of a log; elements or refractories that refract the light to simulate real burning embers. Fiber optic cables, or any other material that facilitates the transmission of light, may be used to assist in transmitting the visible light. A motor driven rotating disk that includes apertures may be used to fragment the transmission of the visible light. In addition, the light source may be controlled by a sequencing device to closely approximate the pulsing intensities of light seen in actual flames, the edges of burning logs, and ember beds.

A cooling fluid conduit being able to direct a flow of a cooling fluid into the reaction zone to flow coaxially with the reaction stream and to form a fluid curtain between the reaction stream and a baffle, which defines at least a portion of the reaction zone, while the metal reactant and hot oxidizing agent within the reaction stream react to form the metal oxide nanopowder prevents scale from forming on the baffle.

The organic silicon rubber encapsulating material for the high-power LED takes the silicone resin component B as a filling material, which not only enables that the silicone rubber has high transparency, high strength and high light transmittance, but also improves the temperature resistance, the yellowing resistance, and the durability of the high light transmittance of high-power LED products. The organic silicon rubber encapsulating material for the high-power LED can be prepared into two encapsulating forms of a single component and bi-component, which improves the adaptability and the encapsulating efficiency for encapsulating equipment and process procedures, and has the characteristics of reduced cost and convenient use.

Disclosed are compositions of ethylene acid copolymers and polyamides that are useful for fabricating films, sheets and molded articles for scuff and scratch resistant material and their application as decorative and protective films, comprising (1) from about 30 to about 65 weight % of a polyamide; and (2) from about 70 to about 35 weight % of a copolymer of (a) ethylene; (b) from about 5 weight % to about 15 weight % of an α,β-unsaturated C3-C8 carboxylic acid; (c) from about 0.5 weight % to about 12 weight % of at least one comonomer that is an ethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acid; and (d) from 0 weight % to about 30 weight % of monomers selected from alkyl acrylate and alkyl methacrylate, wherein the alkyl groups have from one to twelve carbon atoms; at least partially neutralized by one or more alkali metal, transition metal, or alkaline earth metal cations. Articles prepared from these compositions, such as films, show high toughness, good mechanical properties, excellent scratch and scuff resistance and, most importantly, good optical properties. More particularly, the compositions of ethylene copolymers and polyamides of the present invention can be used as protective coatings or layers on scuff- and scratch-exposed objects.

The preparation method is simple; the obtained sol does not contain organic stabilizer; and the titanium dioxide in the sol is anatase, has a rod-shaped structure and high length-diameter ratio, and can form extrafine rod-shaped nanocrystal titanium dioxide.
