The invention relates to a self-heating
silicon carbide ceramic separation membrane and a preparation method thereof. A separation
membrane layer is directly heated and sintered by utilizing the self-heating characteristic of a
silicon carbide support body. The preparation method comprises the following steps: pretreating a
silicon carbide support body, putting the
silicon carbide support body into
ethanol and an acidic or alkaline solution for ultrasonic cleaning, cleaning with deionized water until the
silicon carbide support body is neutral, and
drying; the preparation method comprises the following steps: preparing separation layer
slurry, uniformly dispersing a binder in a
solvent, adding
ceramic powder and a dispersant according to a certain ratio, and carrying out ball-milling mixing, defoaming and vacuum defoaming to obtain uniform bubble-free
slurry.
Coating a separation layer,
coating the
slurry on the surface of a
silicon carbide support body, and
drying in a
drying oven to obtain a separation layer
green body;
roasting the separation layer, putting the
green body into a self-
heating furnace clamp, connecting stable current sources to two ends, accurately controlling the temperature through a
voltage meter, an
ampere meter and an automatic
temperature control instrument by utilizing the
high resistance characteristic of silicon carbide, realizing self-heating of the support body, rapidly
sintering the separation layer, and naturally cooling to obtain the product. An external heat source is not needed, the process is simplified, the period is shortened, and a new scheme and a technical path are provided for preparation of the silicon carbide
ceramic separation membrane.
