Processor pipeline controlling techniques are described which take advantage of the variation in critical path lengths of different instructions to achieve increased performance. By examining a processor's instruction set and execution unit implementation's critical timing paths, instructions are classified into speed classes. Based on these speed classes, one pipeline is presented where hold signals are used to dynamically control the pipeline based on the instruction class in execution. An alternative pipeline supporting multiple classes of instructions is presented where the pipeline clocking is dynamically changed as a result of decoded instruction class signals. A single pass synthesis methodology for multi-class execution stage logic is also described. For dynamic class variable pipeline processors, the mix of instructions can have a great effect on processor performance and power utilization since both can vary by the program mix of instruction classes. Application code can be given new degrees of optimization freedom where instruction class and the mix of instructions can be chosen based on performance and power requirements.

A driving device, a purifying assembly and an indoor unit fan are arranged inside an indoor unit of the air-conditioner. The purifying assembly is driven by the driving device to move between an initial position away from an air inlet of the indoor unit and a purifying position used for sheltering the air inlet. The indoor unit fan leads air from the air inlet into the indoor unit to be adjusted and then sends the air outwards. The control method includes the steps that trigger signals of the air-conditioner entering into the purifying mode are acquired; the driving device is started to drive the purifying assembly to move towards the purifying position; and the set air speed grade of the indoor unit fan is obtained, and the air speed grade of the indoor unit fan is lowered gradually in the moving process of the purifying assembly until the air speed of the indoor unit fan is lowered to the lowest grade or the purifying assembly arrives at the purifying position. According to the scheme, noise caused by air turbulence in the process that airflow enters the air inlet can be avoided, and using experience of users is improved.

Efficient and scalable circuitry for performing Cholesky decomposition is based on a dataflow style architecture which uses self-timed circuitry and eliminates the need for complicated state machines. Calculations are ordered such that partial sums of products are created in parallel subject to data dependency requirements, allowing a single accumulator to perform the summation. A Vector FIFO receives a partial sum of products from a vector processing engine. A Feedback FIFO stores partial results and feeds the partial results back to the data path based on signals from a dataflow controller. The circuitry is flexible to allow different matrix sizes, speed grades, and target frequencies without recompilation.
