The method comprises the following steps: getting a certain amount of hexavalent chromium wastewater, adjusting the pH value to 1.0-10 (preferably 2.0-6.0), adding a certain amount of cyclohexane diamine-tetracetic acid modified magnetic graphene oxide into the wastewater, wherein the dry weight of the carboxylated magnetic graphene oxide in per liter of the wastewater is 0.02-3g, reacting for 0-48h (preferably 1-24h) in a constant temperature oscillator at the rotating speed of 100-200 rpm, controlling the reaction temperature to 10-50 DEG C (15-45 DEG C), and separating the cyclohexane diamine-tetracetic acid modified magnetic graphene oxide from the solution after finishing reaction to finish the removal of the hexavalent chromium in the wastewater.
