The invention discloses light plastering 
gypsum taking diatomite waste particles as aggregate and a preparation method thereof, and belongs to the technical field of building materials. The diatomitewaste particles used in the invention have the advantages of simple 
processing process and low 
processing cost. And when the diatomite waste is treated, the consumption of sand, vitrified micro bubbles and 
perlite is reduced. 
Solid waste is utilized, so that the material cost is reduced while environmental friendliness and 
energy conservation are achieved. The diatomite waste particles used in theinvention have the advantages of light weight, porous micropore structure, air permeability, strong adsorbability and uniform 
granularity, and the surface of the particles has hydrophobicity after being fully treated by the 
organosilicon treatment liquid. The plastering 
gypsum is used as aggregate to be added into light plastering 
gypsum, is applied to plastering of interior walls, reduces bearing of buildings, adsorbs toxic and harmful gas such as 
formaldehyde and VOC, purifies air, adjusts indoor temperature and 
humidity, is breathable, waterproof, 
mildew-proof and bacteriostatic, has highadhesion to the walls, has excellent 
leveling effect, is green, energy-saving, healthy and environment-friendly, and has high 
cost performance, 
low volume density and high 
coating rate.
