A topical spray or foam, methods of making the formulation, and methods of use thereof, has been developed. In one preferred embodiment, the composition includes one or more active agents and exhibits both antibacterial activity and antifungal activity. Excipients such as chemical disinfectants, anti-pruritic agents to minimize itching, and skin protective compounds may be added. The composition may be formulated to be dispensed as a spray or foam and the spray or foam may be administered either by a hand pump or by an aerosolizing propellant. A second single phase formulation has also been developed. Improved film-forming skin protectant compositions are provided which are capable of forming a long-lasting elastic barrier film when applied to skin; the compositions have particular utility as barrier teat dips, for protecting cows against mastitis, especially during their susceptible non-lactating periods. A long-lasting persistent, uniform film-forming skin protecting germicidal composition provides a long-lasting persistent barrier film when applied to skin. The compositions have particular utility as barrier teat dips for protecting cows against mastitis. A barrier film-forming agent is selected from the modified or hydrolyzed polysaccharides, particularly a hydrolyzed or modified starch, such as dextrin and maltodextrin. The liquid soap is prepared from active components such as an anionic surface active agent and a non-ionic surface active agent and excipients such as a moisturizer, a chelating agent, a preservative, a pH adjusting agent, a toner, a matte agent, and spice according to a certain proportion. The liquid soap providedby the invention has a simple and convenient preparation method, and the selected raw materials are reasonable, and have good compatibility and strong degreasing ability because of the synergy; whilethe pH is adjusted to be weakly acidic, so that the problem that the hand is dry after the liquid soap is used can be effectively solved; the moisturizer has a moisturizing effect, so that the dryness of the hand can be effectively reduced after the liquid soap is used; the liquid soap has abrasion resistance because of the matte agent, so that the degreasing property is further improved. The performance test results show that the liquid soap provided by the invention has excellent properties of stabilizing, lubricating, softness, skin protection, non-toxicity, no stimulation and the like, and is an ideal washing supply for cleaning greases on the hand.
