The invention discloses an online monitoring method for the water content and the pollution degree of lubricating oil of a rolling mill, and belongs to the field of monitoring instruments of industrial equipment. The method includes the steps that (1) dielectric constants of the measured oil and comparison oil at real-time temperature are measured in real time through a capacitive sensor probe electrode by means of a capacitive sensor signal processing circuit; (2) the change value of the dielectric constant, measured in real time at the real-time temperature, of the measured oil relative to the dielectric constant of the comparison oil is worked out through a microprocessor and a data display and storage device; and (3) according to a sensor water content sensitivity coefficient calibrated in advance, the water contents corresponding to two adjacent sampling times are worked out in a sequential and progressive increasing mode according to a sampling interval, and the change slope of the water contents relative to schedule time is worked out. According to the method, temperature compensation and other compensations are not needed, and the comprehensive overall pollution degree, the water content and other quality indexes of the measured oil can be monitored online; the method can be widely applied to the aspect of state monitoring and fault diagnosis of mechanical equipment.
