Multiple exposure high dynamic range image capture

Techniques for creating a High Dynamic Range (HDR) image within a consumer grade digital camera from a series of images of a scene captured at different exposure levels, and displaying the HDR image on the camera's built-in display, are provided. The approach employs mixing images of the series to incorporate both scene shadow and highlight details, and the removing of “ghost” image artifacts appearing in the mixed HDR image resulting from movement in the scene over the time the series images are captured. The low computational resource utilization of the present invention's image mixing and ghost removal processing operations, along with the present invention's ability to commence image mixing and ghost removal prior to the acquisition of all series images, can significantly reduce the time required to generate and display a tone mapped HDR image.

Biological/Electrolytic Conversion of Biomass to Hydrocarbons

Hydrocarbon and hydrogen fuels and other products may be produced by a process employing a combination of fermentation and electrochemical stages. In the process, a biomass contained within a fermentation medium is fermented with an inoculum comprising a mixed culture of microorganisms derived the rumen contents of a rumen-containing animal. This inoculated medium is incubated under anaerobic conditions and for a sufficient time to produce volatile fatty acids. The resultant volatile fatty acids are then subjected to electrolysis under conditions effective to convert said volatile fatty acids to hydrocarbons and hydrogen simultaneously. The process can convert a wide range of biomass materials to a wide range of volatile fatty acid chain lengths and can convert these into a wide range of biobased fuels and biobased products.

This movement results in an opening of the control valve member and a supplying of high fuel pressure to the pressure chamber for purposes of injection. Thus a very small pre-injection quantity is produced. In order to produce a main injection quantity, the closing body is positioned in an intermediate position between the valve seats and a longer connection of the high-pressure fuel supply to the pressure chamber is consequently produced.

After a un-triangulated hole is detected enclosing by links between N (N>3) active boundary nodes, the distributed hole recovery process activates one or two redundant nodes to recover the hole at each iteration. This process is performed iteratively by each of the active boundary nodes adjacent to the hole independently without any central controller. It requires 2 hops connectivity or neighbor information from each boundary node adjacent to the hole. After each hole recovery iteration, the hole is reduced in size or split into two smaller holes. Then the hole recovery process repeats until the hole is recovered or detected as unrecoverable.
