An osteoimplant is provided which comprises a coherent aggregate of elongate bone particles, the osteoimplant possessing predetermined dimensions and shape. The osteoimplant is highly absorbent and sponge-like in nature. Also provided herein are a method of fabricating the osteoimplant and a method of repairing and/or treating bone defects utilizing the osteoimplant.

A universal headgear is easy to use and creates an effective seal between a patient interface device, such as gas delivery mask, and a patient. The present invention provides an inflatable retractor for providing access to a surgical site, such as a patient's spine, during a surgical process. When used in spinal surgery, the inflatable retractor allows a surgeon to operate on one or more spinal levels. The inflatable retractor includes an inflatable body defining a central cavity, wherein the body is flaccid in a non-inflated state and increasingly rigid in an inflated state. The inflatable retractor is inserted into an incision in a deflated, or partially inflated, state and then inflated once the retractor is in position. The inflation of the retractor retracts skin and muscle from the surgical site, allowing adequate visualization of the surgical site and forms a passage providing access for implants and surgical instruments to pass through the retractor and into the surgical site.

A roof anchor with a channel fits over a roof panel rib typically having a rib head supported by a narrower rib neck. Setscrews on the anchor side thread through matching threaded holes in anchor sides and into the channel, sandwiching a roof panel rib therebetween when it is received into the channel. An accommodative lens assembly includes a lens body defining an optic lens, a haptic system, and a wing. The lens body is formed and implanted into an eye in a disaccommodative configuration. The haptic system includes one or more haptics that support the optic lens and transmits forces from an anatomical structure such as a ciliary body of the eye, causing the optic lens to deform into an accommodative configuration. In order to stabilize the optic lens so that the optic lens is not displaced from its implantation site, the wing anchors the optic lens within an anterior capsulorhexis of the capsular bag such that the transmitted forces that deform the optic lens during accommodation do not also displace the optic lens from its implanted position. When implanted, the optic lens is anterior to the capsular bag.
