A system designs a thin and relatively flat microwave focusing lens that can produce multiple simultaneous beams, using readily-available isotropic dielectric materials, and having a gradient-index (GRIN) profile. The design optimizes the lens to achieve beam scanning and/or multiple beams over a wide field of regard (FOR) with broad bandwidth and a very short focal length compared with conventional lenses. A multi-chip light emitting device (LED) uses a low-cost carrier structure that facilitates the use of substrates that are optimized to support the devices that require a substrate. The invention relates to a positioning device, in particular to a non-contact type positioning device for a lighting body capable of utilizing different color sequences, comprising a light source device, a shooting inductor, a software and hardware device processed by the shooting inductor, and connection software which is connected with a terminal device and has corresponding communication and positioning functions, wherein the light source device is a lighting source with two or more than two colors and can sequentially change a color light source, the shooting inductor is used for image interception with fixed frequency in each second, each distinct image is taken by the shooting inductor, the software and hardware device processed by the shooting inductor is used for judging if the light source device can sequentially change the color light source and the light spot positions of the color light source and is also used for eliminating the interruption of other fixed light sources, and then the software and hardware device carries out light spot coordinate operation, and then inputs light spot coordinate values to the terminal device. The invention has the advantages that the non-contact type positioning device eliminates the interruption by a changing light source when being compared with a fixed or changed background color or other interrupting light sources and precisely positions the light source position, thereby having low cost and effectively preventing the environmental interruption.

A semiconductor laser, such as a vertical cavity, surface emitting laser (VCSEL) is coupled to an optical fiber. The other end of the optical fiber has a reflector, so as to provide a fiber-extended cavity for the VCSEL. Such a construction is useful for providing modal stability to the VCSEL or for forming a mode-locked VCSEL. The optical fiber may be a graded index fiber. In such a case, the fiber length may be selected to have an integral number of quarter pitch lengths. The fiber may be doped with an excitable species and lies within a fiber laser cavity. A semiconductor laser may pump the fiber laser, yielding an emission wavelength beyond the scope of the conventional semiconductor laser.

The controlling unit controls the transporting unit to transport the heat-sensitive adhesive sheet so as to pass through the thermal print head, the thermal head used for activation, and the cutter device, in order; and to transport a leading edge of a remainder portion of the heat-sensitive adhesive sheet, after the cutter device cuts the heat-sensitive adhesive sheet, to return to a printing position of the thermal print head or to a heating position of the thermal-activation thermal head.

A rotation information record surface of a rotary disk is disposed at an intermediate position between a fixing point of the rotary disk and a rotary shaft and a fixing position of a detection head, so that a stable gap can be obtained with a variation due to thermal expansion being reduced. In order to attain this, the fitting portion of the rotary disk is shaped to have a first fitting portion and a second fitting portion. The first fitting portion is provided for attaining satisfactory coaxiality, and the second fitting portion is adapted to form a clearance into which bonding means such as an adhesive is to be infused. A starter for an internal combustion engine is provided which includes a pair of angular contact ball bearings used to support an armature shaft. The bearings are disposed close to opposed ends of a core of an armature. The core has disposed thereon coils which define a commutator on one of the ends of the core. One of the bearings is disposed within an inner periphery of the commutator. This structure results in a decreased interval between the bearings, thus ensuring stability in supporting the armature shaft during rotation, which results in decreased mechanical vibrations, magnetic noises, and wear of the bearings.
