Light-emitting body, light-emitting layer, and light-emitting device

An organic light-emitting element having high efficiency and long lifetime is provided. An organic light-emitting body is provided which includes a host having a high electron-transport property (n-type host), a host having a high hole-transport property (p-type host), and a guest such as an iridium complex and in which the n-type host and the p-type host are located so as to be adjacent to each other. When an electron and a hole are injected to such a light-emitting body, the electron is trapped by the n-type host and the hole is trapped by the p-type host. Then, both the electron and the hole are injected to the guest, and thus the guest is brought into an excited state. In this process, less thermal deactivation occurs and the working rate of the guest is high; thus, highly efficient light emission can be obtained.

Cellular radio locator system

A cellular radio network based positioning system for determining the position of a mobile station (16). For each base transceiver station (1 to 5) or cell of the network, a fixed list of base transceiver stations is stored by a Mobile Positioning Centre (13). Each list identifies those base transceiver stations which enable the position of a mobile station served by the corresponding base transceiver station (6) to be optimally determined. The list is transmitted to the mobile station (16) via the serving base transceiver station (6) and the mobile station determines an observed time difference for each of the listed base transceiver stations, relative to the serving base transceiver station (6), from signals broadcast by the listed base transceiver stations. The observed time differences are transmitted from the mobile station (6) to the serving base transceiver station (6) and are used by the network to compute the position of the mobile station (16).

Spectral filtration of optical radiation

The present invention provides a new method for spectral filtering of optical radiation wherein the light to be filtered is directed onto two or more spaced apart layers of photosensitive material. A holographic grating is recorded in the layers so that each layer of the photosensitive material contains a portion of the recorded holographic grating. The output optical signal is formed as the result of interference of the light reflected due to the Bragg diffraction from the parts of the diffraction grating recorded in different layers. The reflected light propagates through the spaced apart electrooptical layers sandwiched between the photosensitive layers. The refractive index of the electrooptical layers is varied by the application of the appropriate electrical field to provide the phase difference between the reflected optical signals in order to obtain the desired value of the total output signal resulted from the interference of the reflected light.
